I got married in 2000, I have a plain platinum wedding band and a 0.5 carot diamond solitaire (round brilliant cut) also with plain band. No eternity ring but I bought myself a set of stacking rings with the kids birthstones last year which I wear on my right hand.

CountFosco · 30/07/2018 22:23

When did everyone get their eternity ring?

I've been married 18 years and have 3 DC and still don't have one!

endoflevelbaddy · 30/07/2018 23:13

I still love mine 11 years on. All platinum and they've stayed in really good condition. Still the style I'd choose now (although I might add a few carats 😉)
Wedding band is plain (was told it was supposed to be 'unbroken' if you wanted the marriage to be) and added the half eternity a couple of years later

Thats nice.

About the eternity ring Q i heard that traditionally its supposed to be given after the birth of your first child. I doubt i will get one tbh which is why i fsncy a bit of sparkle in wedding ring

I love mine! Sapphire & diamond engagement ring, diamond wedding band - I was going for plain but couldn’t resist the sparkle. Needs a bit of a clean though...

I think I’ll be waiting a good while for an eternity ring, but have picked what I’d like 💍

The white gold band on its own is what I got married with. I wear this one most of all. My husband has the same ring. I don't have an engagement ring.

sometimes though, I wear a different wedding band with either the amethyst ring that my dad bought me for my 21st or the diamond cluster that was my nan's. I've put weight on though so they're a bit tight.

Oh and the jeweller was H. Samuel just because it was there in the city where we usually do our shopping and it wasn't Argos Grin

ILoveMyDressingGown · 01/08/2018 14:08

And for the wedding ring Cheshire I'd go with something fairly narrow and relatively plain to go with your engagement ring simply because the stone is quite big and eyecatching as it is.
You don't necessarily have to have diamonds either if you want sparkly. My 2nd wedding band, the one I occasionally wear that isn't the one I actually got married with, is two-toned gold and is diamond cut so it catches the light and glitters without needing stones. It also means that it doesn't catch on the rings I wear next to it.

Thanks Dressinggown

The only thing is the band is quite wide. It didnt look right with a narrow band. Just loved the way it looked with a diamondy band Smile

@mumsnet how can we keep this thread

What a lovely thread Smile love seeing all the pretty rings!

Here are mine -I've never really minded that they don't quite sit well together Grin (despite my mums dire warnings that I'll hate them!)

My engagement ring is aquamarine and white gold and I just really liked the eternity style for my wedding ring. I love them and they still make me smile when I look at them sparkling away Star

@FrannySalinger - your ring is gorgeous - do you mind me asking what the stone is - is it an aquamarine ? Anyway - what ever - really lovely.

Sagelistener · 07/08/2018 12:56

Had my wedding band custom made to fit with engagement ring.

FrannySalinger · 07/08/2018 13:55

@BasiliskStare thank you so much! Yes, it is an aquamarine.

happymummy12345 · 07/08/2018 14:38

Count I had mine from before I was even with my husband.
All 3 of my rings are my family heirlooms- wedding ring was my great nans, eternity ring was my nans and engagement ring was my mums.
I'd been wearing my nans eternity ring since I was old enough (she died when I was 11), I was given it when I was 16. Wore it every day on my right hand.
Before we got engaged my mum gave me her engagement ring from my dad (they're divorced) to give my then larger to propose. (Not that it was ever about any ring but she knew he wanted to give me a ring when he asked me to marry him), so I gave it to him and said for when you're ready.
Then when we got married i was given my great nans wedding ring. My mum gave it to me during the engagement.
And of course I already had my nans ring. So from day we got married I wore all 3 together on my left hand. I know it's meant to be after the birth of first child, but I was pregnant when we got married so it felt right. Plus I love how all 3 look together, and the fact they're in order if you like, generation to generation, all together.

This is mine. Married 35 years and still love it! 18ct gold. Rarely wear engagement ring or eternity ring. Some beautiful rings here.

Mine are really simple. Platinum and Rose Gold. With a simple diamond

Lovely rings and also if a wedding / engagement ring has some importance there is an importance to that. Mine are relatively low key but love them and have worn for 20 odd years. I have long coveted an aquamarine though Grin Need to wait for more important things to be paid for though.
