Does anyone have yellow gold rings any more?

I have strayed over here out of nosiness/I hope you don't mind!

I got married in 1999 and it seems looking back that about 2000/2003 there was a bit of a cut off between wearing yellow gold engagement and wedding rings and the move towards white gold/platinum.

I have yellow gold and 18 years on, it's starting to look really old fashioned! I was contemplating have my diamond reset in platinum but DH reckons that silver gold has been in fashion for so long now (the jeweller I spoke to about doing it said that 95% of the rings he sells now are white metal) that it'll probably get popular again !

Do you have white or yellow gold? What about your friends/family?

Three colour puzzle ring as my wedding band. Never regretted it. Gold and diamond engagement ring which I don't wear because it irritates me. I think your original ring shows the length of your marriage, and is a testament to that rather than fashion. Like vintage and heritage. Something to treasure rather than modernise.

White gold wedding ring here, I'm just not particularly keen on yellow gold.

I have a very thin, delicate yellow gold wedding band!! Got married 5 years ago. Wish I'd had rose gold now though!!

DH and I have yellow gold rings. Married 2008. I didn't want something I was hopefully going to be wearing for decades to become unfashionable. I don't wear any other jewellery and I wanted something simple. Plus I wouldn't have known where to start if I'd had to choose a different material.

Dh and I have yellow gold rings but they were my grandparents, made in the early 40's. They were married for over 60 years. We're a sentimental pair so would never change them, they're like a good luck charm to us.

My parents and in laws had/have yellow gold too, I think that was more the thing at the time. Both married late 70's.

My engagement ring is white gold and I have an eternity ring in rose gold, all the bands together look a Russian trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) we are religious and did get married in church so has significance to us.

I got engaged last summer, and will be married in Sept. I picked a yellow gold engagement ring and I'll have a wedding ring in the same colour too.
You're right though, they aren't that common now and it was harder to find a yellow gold one. The choice is mainly white gold/platinum.

If I could have my time again, I'd definitely get yellow gold rings, as I suit gold more, and most of my jewellery is gold (I have one silver and gold ring, which luckily works as a cross-over).

Yellow gold is far more classic - it just dipped out of favour for a while.

DH chose my engagement ring by himself...it's not what I would have chosen myself in a million years but I love it because of what it represents.
Our wedding rings are quite chunky and distinctive but we both really liked them.
Most of my other jewellery is silver but I don't worry about it.

Yellow gold here. It suits my skin tones better. Stuff fashion

Married last year, yellow gold wedding ring. It seemed more traditional. It clashes dreadfully with my engagement ring which I suspect is made of tin as we are poor

Funnily enough, DH's wedding ring is yellow gold. He wanted something more traditional.

I find the platinum/white gold ones a bit cold, especially as I am very, very pale. My engagement and wedding rings are yellow gold, but 14k so not too yellow, which is perfect for me!

DH's is more of a statement piece so would have looked totally OTT in gold, so he went with silver. (Quite wide, matt hammered silver band)

Engaged 2011, married 2012. Yellow gold - but it's old yellow gold. I have DH's great-grandma's engagement ring so went looking for a wedding band of a similar age so it wouldn't look out of place (and found one in a secondhand gold shop for £50).

My engagement ring is a vintage gold and diamond piece. My wedding band is a trinity ring with an interlocking gold and rose gold combo.

There is no duck thing as white gold, it's just yellow gold that's been dipped in rhodium (I think!). My original rings were white gold and I used to get hem dipped every few years to brighten them. I then got them reset in platinum.

I've bought yellow gold jewellery before and paid to get it treated so that it was white.

Rose gold seems to be very popular now.
