SE Durham here, it hit just as we'd finished clearing up after our BBQ. Huge rainstorm and a few rumbles of thunder.

Was planning to spend the next few hours weeding but have had to pour another glass of wine. Shame.

A storm (of epic proportions according to lightningmaps.org) passed by to the west of us about half an hour ago on its way north, and we got none of it. It is much fresher and cooler now though, and it did get rather windy and gusty for a short while.

NW inland and i can hear a rumble

Actually I think it was a plane.

It’s here in Newcastle and it’s glorious. Thunder, lightning, rain, and I think it waited for most of the runners in the great north run to have finished.

A bit of a thunderstorm her in the east midlands and raining heavily but the humidity seems to have got worse. Unbearable. I am dripping with sweat.

Oh the lightening on the lightening map has just missed us (east anglia) if its going north. If its coming south we'll get it soon fingers crossed 🤞 it'd definitely a lot cooler here 👍

The storm looks to be travelling east, it’s nowhere near me and will miss me. What a fucking liberty 😂

The lightening app has been going berserk this afternoon but all the thunderstorms seem to be 50 miles away and up across the country.

Sad to be missing out but it's rained all day here and is lovely and cool.

A little cloudy now. In NW very him and warm but no rain or thunder yet

5 miles east of Newcastle it went very dark, a few rumbles of thunder but the rain is epic. Reminiscent of Thunder Thursday 10 years ago when we had floods 😳

At a caravan park in Exmouth. Storm hit us as around 3-3.30 in the morning. Being in the caravan made it sound like the world was ending. DD got scared which is strange for her as she is normally the one watching it out the window.

I’m in SW wales we had an hour of rain this morning now it’s back to cloudy muggy heat

I’m south greater manchester and we had thunder last night and some heavy rain. But my parents just into cheshire didn’t! Had a bit of rain now, no thunder but the rain has brought a breeze with it so some air is finally circulating the house!

I am SW and we've had the mother of all thunder and lightning storms. Thunder and lightning very close together. Scared the dog and set our car alarm off!

I’ve got the tiniest tiniest drizzle here in M15. Was hoping for a nice thunderstorm but judging by the sky ain’t gonna happen.
