It is torrential near milton keynes right now with a cold wind, bliss!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/09/2023 14:08

NW coast here and the humidity is killing me! We've heard thunder in the distance a few times so far, and had a brief spell of rain about an hour ago. But, no storm yet. Hope it gets a move on!

Though those attending the air show would likely prefer for it to hold off a bit! ☔️ ⛈️

CandyCaneLane0 · 10/09/2023 14:10

A bit of drizzle starting in Nottingham now🤞

wineandmaltesershappyme · 10/09/2023 14:10

We had a big storm last night (York) and it cooled down nicely, but a couple of hours later it was getting hot again

BeggyMitchell · 10/09/2023 14:25

Keep thinking I hear a rumble but not sure if it's traffic.

We had an epic storm last night in West Yorkshire but the humidity is even more oppressive today. Only had a bit of rain so far today and no sign of another storm coming.

Dontcallmescarface · 10/09/2023 14:31

Nothing here in north Somerset. Had some rain last night but it's warm and sunny now. Having said that this little patch of the county seems to have it's own weather pattern...we haven't had a thunderstorm yet this year but 20 miles down the road had a massive one a couple of weeks ago and all we got was 1 very faint rumble of thunder.

piscofrisco · 10/09/2023 14:34

Breeze is picking up in north Herts and it's becoming a bit cloudier but it's still 32 degrees. My weather app doesn't show any rain even due.

Strugglingtodomybest · 10/09/2023 14:34

Great photos!

The lightening was fantastic last night. Luckily we were out till gone 1am, so got to see it even though it was when we're normally asleep.

Xtraincome · 10/09/2023 14:35

Just had a nice blast of monsoon level rain and thunder in Northamptonshire. Was lovely. DDs are sad the storm has stopped, as am I.

DrFoxtrot · 10/09/2023 14:36

I'm on the NW coast and we've had two lengthy downpours with thunder. My pressure headache seems to be easing! Sun is out again now. It's feels a little more fresh although there is a seaweedy smell from the beach that isn't so pleasant!

Can you shoo it along to our part of the coast please?!

BeggyMitchell · 10/09/2023 14:41

And also into the city if you wouldn't mind.

I would be grateful for just a bit of rain, although a storm would be marvellous

My son has just shown me a photograph of the M1 between Js 13 and 14. Looks like they've had biblical rain - motorway looks flooded.

We're about 8 miles south, and not even a drop of rain 😢 😭 - just oppressive heat

DrFoxtrot · 10/09/2023 14:47

@NoWordForFluffy I'm near Blackpool, are you north or south? 😁

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 10/09/2023 14:49

Torrential rain on South Coast. I know that's miles away!

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 10/09/2023 14:53

West Midlands here - we have on and off drizzly rain and it's a lot cooler outside - still got fan on in the house - think it may take a bit longer to cool down indoors .

South, just across the bay!

Billyhargrovesmullet · 10/09/2023 14:59

We’ve got a brilliant one going on in the north east non stop rumbling for last half an hour

BIWI · 10/09/2023 15:01

Not yet please! Having our last barbecue (probably) of the year later this afternoon.

(SW London)

... although I do love a good storm!

Florelei · 10/09/2023 15:05

NW Durham and we’ve just had a pretty bad storm here. It went so dark that all of
our door lights have come on!

onestepfromgrace · 10/09/2023 15:06

I took the dog out to beat the storm it went dark quickly I got back covered the garden furniture just in time. Opened all of the windows and it’s arrived I have large windows overlooking countryside the view is fab and the breeze coming through the windows is lovely too.
