I’m NW and I’ve got thunder overhead now.

I'm in Greater Manchester - desperate for a storm her too - I've had an awful headache for days.

I'm in the South of France and am dying for a storm. Still days away here.

Midlands and its veering between drizzle and actual rain.

It is definitely cooler so I’d say no storms here, but I can feel a pressure in my head so fingers are crossed.

Me! I love them! I’ve only ever seen one brilliant one that had fork lightening is read I’d sheet lightning, it was so exciting and the weather afterwards was just a relief! I can hardly breathe in this humidity. I grew up with a gran who was completely phobic because when was was a young girl a boy next up her was struck by lightening and I’m surprised she didn’t pass her phobia on to me, she used to hide in the bathroom for hours because it had no window if she heard the slightest rumble of thunder, whereas I want to run outside and be part of it all! We so badly need a thunder storm right now to break this weather!

I hate to tell you, but we had a massive thunderstorm last night... and today it's just as hot as it was beforehand.

We had a rolling, almost continuous rumbles of thunder early yesterday evening, but no rain. Very strange cloud formation though!

N.E. and reporting in. We had lightning last night but no thunder or rain. This morning was sunny but now it's cooler and overcast. I've brought all the outdoor cushions in and even put the rain over over the parasol, just waiting for main event now...

I've noticed the last few times that storms haven't reduced the humidity. I don't know the science behind what happens.

Im in N Hampshire and just a few spots of rain but nothing more so far.

It felt a bit apocalyptic! Went very dark very quickly. Here's another - the houses give some perspective on the size of the cloud formation. I've googled it and I think it's a vortex cloud (but I'm not entirely sure).

Maybe it's the aliens?
