Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

Some severe weather potential for next week too.

Woken up to surprise snow in the NW

We have snow... but it looks as if it is melting already.

Just rain here in Manchester

About 3 or 4 inches of snow here in South Yorkshire, but I don't think it will stay.

I have been following the forums on netweather, its a rollercoaster atm! No snow, all the snow, no snow , all the snow!

Alldasnow here, just outside of Barnsley.

Drizzly now tho so suspect it won't last long. Thank God!

We were forecast so much snow for the weekend in the south east and now it’s changed and gone again!!

I'm, my weather app is saying it is going to start snowing at 7am on Sunday and not stop till Wednesday when it will rain for a bit and start snowing again a few hours later. Am I really in for snowmaggedon or is it being dramatic?

I hate the weather app. It teases me with the promise of snow then a few hours later it’s gone.

I'm actually hoping for that this time around, we have some complicated manouvers with medical appointments next week.

Is the BBC Weather website always way out? I have found it particularly unreliable.

Sparkling I find it promises so much then bam, gone.

It's easy to get excited, snow, sun, dry day.
Always seems slow to update somehow at times.

Three hours of heavy snow it said for last Saturday. I took my snow shovel and snacks in the car in good faith for my treacherous 8 mile drive home from work. Half an hour of sleety snow then rain. Pah!

That's too much.

What are they doing in the BBC weather offices, basing it on a day in Animal Crossing? 😁

FWIW, I never believe any weather reader/weather map, until either @GloriaSmud or OYBBK have said it on here....both always spot on. waves to both

Right, I'm going to address the elephant in the room What's going on at the weekend and next week @Ohyoubadbadkitten and @Gloriasmud? BBC weather just now getting quite excited about 'disruptive snow at the weekend!'

Disclaimer, I am so sick of homeschool and lockdown and all the misery that this is the only thing I have to look forward to at the moment, no pressure! 😁😘

Was just about to ask the same. Is it another Beast From The East for south Yorkshire? Will dh get a mile up the road for blood tests Monday morning? Will he get to manchester on Tuesday? Met Office showing snow from Saturday night through to Tuesday so far.

Am not a fan of snoe tbh.

It's looks like snow is a-coming, starting with disruptive snow for Scotland Friday and Saturday but after that, there's the chance of ice/snow showers feeding in from the East.

Frouby - He might be OK for his blood tests but it might be a 'one to watch' for getting to Manchester, especially if he has to go through areas like the Peak District.

Oddgirlout - Kent might be in with a chance from Sunday onwards.

I hope so! Net weather is positive but met check says rain!
