Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

Today the primary risk for Saturday looks to be around the NE and northern Wales. Cold but mostly dry elsewhere I think.

It's snowing here (Leicester) and we've got a good covering. It started off as rain, gradually turned to snow and now it's beginning to settle on the roads and pavements.

20:35 image shows a band of snow which looks to me to be from Gloucester to Nottingham, which is tracking eastwards.

I think there will be lots of happy children over the next couple of days.
Snow depths in lowland areas of southern england will probably only be a couple of cm at most for some, but others will get quite a lot more.

Heavy snow in my corner of Manchester. Starting to lie on wet ground now.

I'm in an area of Lancashire that doesn't get snow, and if we do it doesn't stick
It is coming down heavily! Sky went very dark and a layer everywhere within minutes

Very disappointed with the lack of snow down here. Haven’t seen any at all for the last couple of winters (outskirts of Brighton - high up on the Downs)

Surrey here, and we’re desperate for some! It’s been very boring during lockdown and the prospect of snow tomorrow has given us such a lift (mostly me, as I’m obsessed with the stuff ).

We briefly had hail this morning. Which is at least more wintry than our usual rain.

There's a pretty good chance for many southerners tomorrow away from coasts. East Anglia looks as though it will see quite a messy mix.

@OhYouBadBadKitten What about London for snow? My phone has just gone off with a warning about snow and ice so I'm here for my yearly visit to ask.

I think the London area probably won't get very much. At the moment I think you might get a bit of a sleet/snow mix in the afternoon.

Woke up (Norfolk) to the tiniest amount of snow this morning, nothing since..so far. Perishing cold though..

Really hoping for some west dartmoor snow to wake up to tommorow

It has been snowing big, feathery flakes where I am in Belfast for about 2 hours.

At least three inches here.

I'm keeping an eye on the band of precipitation showing up here, moving from west to east. Hopefully should get something out of that here (Leicester) in a few hours time.
