Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

Heavy snow now coming down on top of yesterday's. Its forecast to be sleet here so obviously the temperature has dropped. Bit of a breeze too

Hope OYBBK has some snow.

Hello no snow for me yet, just mud and ice.

Tomorrow into Thursday is really hard to predict. There's an area of rain and snow due to sweep southwards from Scotland - giving a really messy mix and then there's a weather front in the south and goodness knows what that will do - my feeling is that it will dump most of its snow on France rather than us.

There are some showers coming down the north sea that might bring some snow into Lincolnshire and Norfolk tonight.

So many different predictions! I'm in London. I've just realised I've got no fresh fruit or veg in and mum is telling me snow overnight, tomorrow and Thursday?!

I have got frozen and tinned. So I won't get scurvy 😂

Not looking likely for us in Surrey - tier 4 and no snow, what a sucky end to the year.

Any further updates @OhYouBadBadKitten for the South east today? I think I'm getting my hopes up and it'll be a damp cold squib as always!

Poor DP. He's snoozing on the sofa, only to be awoken with me screeching "IT'S SNOWING!" We're in Fife, right on the coast and only have tiny snowflakes, but it's a start and the sky looks promising. 🤞

Is the snow cancelled in the south east? It has disappeared off the met office and met check!

More promised for Manchester tonight, in a strange reversal of the usual Snow Shield we seem to be getting a bit of snow every day.

I'd be a little surprised, it seems unlikely to meTokyo - snow showers at most.

There is very little chance of anything in the south tonight now.

It happens to the best of us. Forecast I saw last night was freezing fog 🤷🏻‍♀️

Looks nice and dog was jumping trying to catch the flakes. The sky is pink

My weather app consistently shows a 40% chance of snow in 6 days time. Yesterday it was on Jan 5, today it is Jan 6... It’s not going to happen, is it?

We were supposed to be getting heavy snow showers today, which had been in the forecast for the last couple of days.
Checked this morning and it’s completely changed, forecast to be sunny most of the day!!
Quite disappointing , thought we might be able to get the sledge out.
