Snow watch

Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.

This weather front looks set to pivot around the NW anti-clockwise, as a messy mix of rain sleet and snow. Temperatures are too marginal to call it and even different radars are picking up different real time precipitation types.

We have snow, although not enough the make the millions of snowmen my DC seem to have planned on....

The Blackdown Hills, Devon has snow this morning.

But the top of Dartmoor is just wet.

As usual.

We did have thunder & lightning around 3ish though.

Snow warnings for Weds/Thurs in the south.

No snow :( dd wanted snow before going back to uni...... I will have to send her photos and videos.

We had snow on Christmas eve, & again last night. We're moderately high here though, quite often we walk up from town & it's rain in the centre but snowing up here. North Yorkshire, it's barely got above freezing all day, forecast for tomorrow is for wet snow... which means it'll be treacherous underfoot down that hill!

No snow today, but it's stayed below freezing all day so last night's coating is still there - in the village and on the hills.

Just started snowing in Edinburgh

Have to say that the new LED streetlights make snow watching a bit different. As they only shine downwards you don't get seeing the snow falling down from above, like it starts at street lamp height and everything's really white nae orange glow

Ooh, I wonder if we live near each other @ReceptacleForTheRespectable. Probably not, to be fair, I'm right on the border.

Missed out on the snow yesterday here (Leicester) but I'm watching the big blob of precipitation moving southwards here. It looks like it could be heading my way.
