First met office warnings for the month are
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-02-03 for Scotland. Gusts up to 80mph (perhaps more in isolated spots) for many.

In general it looks like it could be quite a stormy month with a lot of potential showing from the 9th onwards. Might be worth looking at your fences in the south before then Wink

Anybody after a bargain today?

Storm Ciara forecasts and reports

Still near gale (29 gusting 46 knots, force 7) in Dublin Bay this morning with rough looking seas and water has already reached the “regular” spring tide high water mark 2 hours before high tide. Temp gauge in car said 4.5 degrees. Low and mid grey clouds (not nearly as dark as some squalls yesterday but definitely threatening grey) in the sky - currently dry but I wouldn’t be at all surprised at more rain or even snow. Rainfall radar earlier had a lot of showers passing over the country.

I like the flash sale - hopefully no flash flooding to add to his stocks 🤣🤣🤣

BrokenBrit · 10/02/2020 12:47

Snowing now in Cheshire/ N.Wales.

ElloBrian · 10/02/2020 13:53

Very windy suddenly in London.

Nice heavy snow shower in Dublin airport but ground too wet so it’s melting at the moment.

Titsywoo · 10/02/2020 14:32

Been to my allotment today and the greenhouse has survived for now. Unfortunately the shed lost it's roof and shifted off it's base Sad We've bodged it for now but it will need to be replaced sadly.

BiddyPop · 10/02/2020 15:08

Still sitting on the tarmac in Dublin - we need to de ice and they didn’t have the equipment ready so it’s been a long wait. But the plane next to us has just deplaned without departing - it had been due to go to Glasgow so I guess the weather is really bad there.

Titsywoo · 10/02/2020 15:13

Met office is currently showing 60mph gusts again for this coming Saturday night into Sunday morning...

Crabonastick · 10/02/2020 15:41

I suppose there are worse ways to spend a Monday Grin miss my little ones so much though! Hopefully we can fly back tomorrow. Has travel been much disrupted today?

BlackeyedSusan · 10/02/2020 16:07

Not too bad disruption here. Unfortunately nothing blew off school and it was open so I had to get up. Hoping for minor not too expensive but inconvenient and need to close school. Snow would do. At least that melts.

colouringinpro · 10/02/2020 16:12

Seriously yucky again in the Chilterns, lots of fat rain and wind - Bleurh.

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 16:12

Very odd in our small Midlands town. At home it was worse than yesterday, my car got blown off course on the way to collect the DCs from school (a mile away) and we had torrential rain and very high winds so I went to fetch them rather than them walking. I got a very bemused text saying there was no need as the weather was fine, got there and it was blue skies and sunshine and not even a breeze Confused

I texted a friend about the awful weather to see what it was like at her house, she's 1/2 a mile in the other direction and it was blue skies and sunshine for her too.

daisychain01 · 10/02/2020 16:49

An interesting mix - rain and wind this morning, and now as it's getting dark, massive hailstones plus added bonus snow.

It's well above freezing 🥶 so it won't settle, although windchill factor made it unpleasant to walk in.

A friend just drove to Heathrow from Reading and he said his (large) car was getting blown all over the place. No way to avoid the big trucks - definitely not fun.

I now have to drive through lots of old wooded areas... hoping the trees can cling on, lots if them look a bit precarious in a light breeze, never mind this!

Cineraria · 10/02/2020 18:44

We've had big stripes of alternating blue skies and thick cloud all day in South London. Some of the clouds looked almost like they'd been drawn with a ruler! On the way to school, we saw that lots of daffodils have popped out with all the sun on Saturday and this morning. There was a very pretty sunset too on the way home. We just had hail a few minutes ago and it's got very cold.

BiddyPop · 10/02/2020 19:55

Our lunchtime flight was over 3 hours delayed, but the late afternoon flight was on time arriving 25 minutes after ours, in the end. One little snow flurry and a lack of preparation for de-icing!!! Angry.

Deciddd to eat in overpriced hotel restaurant isn’t he end so I can get to my room to do my work and get some sleep....

sideorderofchips · 10/02/2020 19:56

Very bad in Jersey. F10. Tree now down in myy garden. Lots of accidents

bluebump · 10/02/2020 20:38

This weekend coming is looking really awful too, just when I was hoping tomorrow would be the end of this!

dementedma · 10/02/2020 20:42

Still heavy snow here. Looks like I will be working from home tomorrow

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 20:47

We've had snow in Worcestershire tonight.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/02/2020 20:58

Sunday does look pretty awful!

The Queensferry Crossing both north and south bound closed until after tomorrow's rush hour, at least. The weatherproof bridge isn't as weatherproof as promised. Diversions via the old, ugly and always reliable Kincardine bridge.

billsmothers · 10/02/2020 21:48

Sunday was terrible here but last night was worse, tonight it's just extremely cold, hopefully the wind won't come back for a third night - I want to get some sleep once I've finishing supervising DD's 3d printer making something or other for homework.
