First met office warnings for the month are
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-02-03 for Scotland. Gusts up to 80mph (perhaps more in isolated spots) for many.

In general it looks like it could be quite a stormy month with a lot of potential showing from the 9th onwards. Might be worth looking at your fences in the south before then Wink

My guinea pigs insisted on following me into the garden and seemed to be having a ball jumping in the wind and being blown about. I brought them in obviously but they’ve been sat sulking at the back door ever since.

This is one of the sweetest things I've read for a while! They sound so funny Grin

Thank you OYBBK and Gloria

I'm wondering if we have another squall building behind the major squall line, over northern Ireland at present. It doesn't look very organised and like one yet, but it is a linear feature.

We still have no power and I'm really contemplating taking the car out for hot food!? I'm about ten miles south of Dartford and just don't know what to do :-(. Cold hungry teenagers is not making for a pleasant Sunday!!

Fsid00 · 09/02/2020 13:07

I've just discovered Big Jet Tv on Facebook. Watching the planes land at Heathrow. It's quite hairy! A few landings aborted.

Quite addictive Grin

Not too bad here in South Wales. Windy but not had the heavy rain forecast. Think we've been lucky!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2020 13:11

Chenin, if you absolutely have to (I'm not saying it is a good idea) make sure you don't have a squall about to pass through.

We're at the O2 and had no problems getting here. M25 etc all fine. Hopefully getting home will be just as smooth Grin

TwentyViginti · 09/02/2020 13:14

Think the squall line has hit here. Gone really dark, heavy rain.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 09/02/2020 13:17

Update from Cumbria - I wonder if we've got the eye of the storm at the mo here in S Lakes. I drove this morning very early and it wasn't pleasant - gales and torrential rain. Now it's just windy and everywhere is flooded. We've no trains at all.

NotYourTypicalNerd · 09/02/2020 13:20

What websites are people using please? To see the lines etc?

FlamingoAndJohn · 09/02/2020 13:21

Well now I can’t stop watching Big Jet TV.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2020 13:21

Centre of the storm is off the top end of Scotland (surface pressure chart forecast for midday today)

xposted with OYBBK!

Perihelion · 09/02/2020 13:21

Part of that disorganised squall line just went over Edinburgh.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2020 13:23

I think it must be a trough Peri. How was it?

Video on Twitter which is well worth watching.

SoleBizzz · 09/02/2020 13:27

Watch planes LIVE landing at LHR for free on Youtube

FreezerBird · 09/02/2020 13:27

The wind has picked up again here after a brief spell of relative calm, blue sky and sunshine. No rain though.

(W Wales coast)

SoleBizzz · 09/02/2020 13:29

The wind here was bad a few minutes ago in Brum. A fencr panel has been blown down.

Rowgtfc72 · 09/02/2020 13:31

Think we've just had the squall. Absolutely torrential rain, thunder, lightning and the strongest winds yet. Humber bridge completely shut too. We're cleethorpes, east coast.

Perihelion · 09/02/2020 13:31

Just looked at the pressure drop here in the last 24 hours. From 1003hPa to 962hPa

windymillersmill · 09/02/2020 13:33

If you use flight radar, flight QF10 near Gatwick seems to be having problems. Hopefully it's all OK.

Sassenach85 · 09/02/2020 13:36

Can someone advise me please, I’m near Glasgow and although a bit windy it’s been blue sky and sun. We are supposed to be going out this afternoon around 3pm my dog thinks I’m crazy to consider the weather might turn. Does anyone have any idea?

Sassenach85 · 09/02/2020 13:37

My DH! Not dog lol
