First met office warnings for the month are
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-02-03 for Scotland. Gusts up to 80mph (perhaps more in isolated spots) for many.

In general it looks like it could be quite a stormy month with a lot of potential showing from the 9th onwards. Might be worth looking at your fences in the south before then Wink

Scouse, that's what it was like in Manchester - we made a run to the recycling centre this morning about 10:30, and then to get some coffee etc from the local shops. It was very windy but not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Then 10/15 minutes ago the skies went dark and it was like someone was throwing buckets of water at the house. The garden is flooded, as is the garage - the outside drains can't cope with the amount of water. And that's only in 10 minutes.

Man City have postponed the match against West Ham.

Very relieved as I think DH would have tried to go!

Waitingforciara · 09/02/2020 11:24

Bucks is so windy, squally rain. Awake all night, so tired now..

windymillersmill · 09/02/2020 11:26

thanks...just heading to the shop now. I just couldn't think straight.

OLittleTownofBethlehem · 09/02/2020 11:27

Very windy here in Norfolk and no power for a few hours. The corrugated roof of our shed/outbuilding has half blown off but no proper rain yet...

Murinae · 09/02/2020 11:28

Tree down onto the power cable in front of our house and it’s ripped our telephone cable down

OYBBK - thanks, So flip the trampoline? Also, DD wants DH to go get bread We have rolls and wraps and all sorts. But then she is autistic! So will send him now!

TokyoSushi · 09/02/2020 11:30

@flouncyfanny IKEA Wink

cheninblanc · 09/02/2020 11:31

We've had no power now for around two hours, think a fence will come down, local train station has a tree on the line. I'm south London /Kent and the worst is yet to come. Dh taken his dd back to mums 7 hours early, not worth the risk in the dark and forecast and it's one less child to worry about being cold and hungry. The drive is only half hour but I'm much happier knowing she's back safely and he hasn't got to go out later. We have nothing at all not even our cooker now. Still the cat is fast asleep!!

JorisBonson · 09/02/2020 11:35

We've lost several fence panels here in SE London and are nervously watching a tree that may go into DP's newly built garage.

We have a dodgy bit of fence that's attached to our decking and if that goes I will cry.

Wmids. Windy but nothing to see here. Keeps going calm, then windy again. Forecast 57mph gusts now then calming down.

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 09/02/2020 11:44

East York’s......fence down Sad
Popped to the shop....fallen trees in the road and fire service out up someone’s roof.
Making me anxious!

BlackeyedSusan · 09/02/2020 11:54

How is that squall line progressing?

TheBitterBoy · 09/02/2020 11:57

Thunder and lightning in Reading

lifeonprivetdrive · 09/02/2020 11:57

Northern power grid aren’t showing any power cuts which is interesting as mine has been on and off for a while.

ScouseQueen · 09/02/2020 11:59

Fence panel now down at the back of our garden. That'll teach me to say I was 'underwhelmed' by the weather Blush

ImOffTheRadar · 09/02/2020 11:59

East Yorkshire here too just had torrential hailstones.

Elderflower14 · 09/02/2020 12:04

Very windy here in Mid Suffolk. We had a customer in the shop who nearly got taken out by a flying bucket!! 🤯 🤯 🤯
Trees down in the village too.
The tarpaulin in the yard at work was rattling very loudly and the trolleys took on a life of their own somewhat like Bednobs and Broomsticks and were whizzing round the yard!!

colouringinpro · 09/02/2020 12:05

Chiterns v windy, episodes of very heavy rain. Many trees down across roads, fences down, trampolines over. A day to hibernate!

notanothergiftcard · 09/02/2020 12:05

It's v windy in london but hasn't actually been as bad as I expected.

TeddyIsaHe · 09/02/2020 12:06

Still no rain in Norwich, but my word the wind is absolutely insane. My local fb page has never been so active with all the updates!
