First met office warnings for the month are
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-02-03 for Scotland. Gusts up to 80mph (perhaps more in isolated spots) for many.

In general it looks like it could be quite a stormy month with a lot of potential showing from the 9th onwards. Might be worth looking at your fences in the south before then Wink

Blowing a hoolie and absolutely chucking it down in Cumbria. We’re going to need the Big Coats tomorrow.

Ilovemuesli · 09/02/2020 00:00

Another one for Leeds, LS11 for all the Leeds people out there!
Yep blowy with a little rain - getting a little nervous about our shed and fences surviving the night if it gets as bad as they say it will - danger to life and all that.
DP thinks I'm bonkers, I suggested bringing our baby into our bed at the safe end of the house (i.e away from any potentially falling trees) :) :) :)

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 09/02/2020 00:04

Very blowy here in Oxford - have had to close the bedroom window as it's so noisy. Just drove up from the south coast and I could feel the wind starting to buffet the car a little bit towards the end of the journey. Was supposed to be driving tomorrow but came back tonight instead after hearing about the storm - reading this I think I definitely made the right decision!

ClientQueen · 09/02/2020 00:04

Lancashire. A bit wet and windy but sort of "I'll put my big coat on" rather than scary. So far!

SoleBizzz · 09/02/2020 00:06

Quite windy here in B'ham. Have just started to hear the wind about ten minutes ago.

SoleBizzz · 09/02/2020 00:06

Freeview TV on and off

ippdipdo · 09/02/2020 00:10

No @piggywaspushed bin day is Monday but I thought it was already Sunday not Saturday Hmm

IWishItWasSummer · 09/02/2020 00:10

It’s all gone very quiet in Central Scotland, no wind and no rain.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/02/2020 00:11

Forecast wind gone up by 10 mph between 9pm and 12am, gusts forecast 15 mph higher at 12 than 9, so building up now.

Not much more of an increase til 5 am, then starts increasing again.

ScouseQueen · 09/02/2020 00:13

It's a blustery night here but so far not massively beyond others - like @ClientQueen it's more 'big coat' time than really extreme.

VanillaSugarr · 09/02/2020 00:14

The wind is very very noisy here in the East Midlands.

NewtoThis2020 · 09/02/2020 00:19

Got to drive from Newbury to Yorkshire tomorrow

PigletJohn · 09/02/2020 00:27

Windfarms are now generating 11GW of electricity

Which is a lot.

The nukes are generating 5.8

GiantKitten · 09/02/2020 00:46

Blimey

It’s an ill - er - wind Blush

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/02/2020 00:56

Erm we have a tiny bit of wind and rain at the moment, but I would not be surprised if that changes totally.
There's a strong wind blowing Grin

Clymene · 09/02/2020 01:00

Getting pretty gusty here (south coast). Something has just clattered down the street - I guess a bin (not mine which are safely stowed behind a gate.

ineedaholidaynow · 09/02/2020 01:00

Very windy here in Devon

Murinae · 09/02/2020 01:11

Very windy and rainy here now in South Wales. It’s beating against the windows.

YgritteSnow · 09/02/2020 01:15

Not a peep here in West London.

tobee · 09/02/2020 01:19

I'm in South West London and I think it's getting a bit blowy! Grin

BanditoShipman · 09/02/2020 01:22

Very windy here in worcestershire

TeddyIsaHe · 09/02/2020 01:22

A bit windy in Norwich, but nothing out of the ordinary yet.

tobee · 09/02/2020 01:23

Can hear it in my living room chimney. Just stood on my front doorstep (in the name of science) and it's a slightly noisy wind. Local weather app says gusting 2 on Beaufort Scale!

Usually can tell it's a bit windy/wet when Freeview channels go on the blink Hmm

GinandGingerBeer · 09/02/2020 01:28

Well we've just been charged £23 for going 3 miles in an Uber so it must be frigging windy. Boo. Arseholes. (S,Yorks)

LegArmpits · 09/02/2020 01:31

Barry Island, South Wales. Nothing outlandish. Yet.
