First met office warnings for the month are
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-02-03 for Scotland. Gusts up to 80mph (perhaps more in isolated spots) for many.

In general it looks like it could be quite a stormy month with a lot of potential showing from the 9th onwards. Might be worth looking at your fences in the south before then Wink

Same here. Top gusts forecast 61

Peridot1 · 08/02/2020 23:01

Pretty blowy here in Somerset.

Was at a friends for drinks and DS was my taxi so got him to come at 10 rather than be out too late.

Slightly worried about friend's dd who went out half dressed! She’ll freeze!

FreezerBird · 08/02/2020 23:03

We're home now and it's not as bad asnid expected yet. We're a mile inland but the coast tomorrow is forecast 70+ all day!

PigletJohn · 08/02/2020 23:03

the harbour ferry has announced it will not be running Sunday or Monday.

Pascha · 08/02/2020 23:06

Not bad here above the Romney Marsh but then the forecast is for 3am onwards.

I predict a child in my bed before morning.

thenightsky · 08/02/2020 23:07

North Lincolnshire. The wind has picked up, but no rain yet. I'm in a new build so I hope they've not skimped on securing the roof tiles!

Justmuddlingalong · 08/02/2020 23:10

I can hear an ominous drip somewhere above the kitchen ceiling. It must be coming in from the outside stairs to my upstairs neighbour's flat. Oh well. Will deal with that and whatever else Ciara throws at us tomorrow. Keep safe and dry everyone. ☕

CruCru · 08/02/2020 23:12

We were meant to be going down to the IoW this weekend but decided to cancel in case the ferries aren’t running. Glad we did, just checked the forecast and winds are meant to get to 109mph (we’re right by the Needles).

ImOffTheRadar · 08/02/2020 23:12

East Yorkshire here. Today was beautiful with sunshine, blue sky and a light breeze but such a contrast tonight. Considering wearing my noise cancelling earphones as the wind has really ramped up and I need sleep!

KenAdams · 08/02/2020 23:14

We're Leicester. A few small things in the garden have knocked over but we've tried to move anything at risk.

We've a 2.5 hour drive to Manchester in the morning which will be fun. Venue is refusing to cancel the event for bad weather.

Skinandbones · 08/02/2020 23:17

Wind and rain started in Leeds, loads of the street have different things out, ladders, bins and trampoline to name a few. Think I might be watching them flying past tomorrow.

dementedma · 08/02/2020 23:19

Oddly its all gone very quiet here in NE Fife tonight. Was wild earlier. Calm before the storm?

AmelieTaylor · 08/02/2020 23:27

Central south east

Blowing a gale already. A bit worried about having the window open, but I cannot sleep and I get massive headaches if the window is closed. I’ve opened two a couple of inches rather than one properly - it’s noisy out!

yogo · 08/02/2020 23:34

Windy here in the midlands

BarbedBloom · 08/02/2020 23:35

We are in South Wales. Have laid everything down in the garden. Husband is in work tomorrow and walks there and back. Forecast up to 61 mph winds at worst point. Am persuading him to get a taxi, but really wish this was his weekend off. We also have giant sycamore trees in next doors garden and some of the branches are not in good shape. Not looking forward to tomorrow

GiantKitten · 08/02/2020 23:37

Wind is getting up here (E Lancs) & my computer screen has flickered a couple of times already. Think I'll log off...

dustibooks · 08/02/2020 23:41

Another one checking in from Beds. Starting to whirl about a bit out there now in weird gusts like it hasn't quite made its mind up yet.

whataballbag · 08/02/2020 23:41

Absolutely pissing down and windy where I am, also east lancs

opinionminion · 08/02/2020 23:48

Checking in from North Norfolk. Very blustery now - and rather noisy. Stay safe everyone.

Magissa · 08/02/2020 23:49

West London zone 1. Wind is definitely getting up. We live above shops and I can hear squeaking and creaking of shop signs and awnings. Just closed my skylight as I kept hearing gusts of wind hitting it.

HeIenaDove · 08/02/2020 23:49

Getting gusts in North Essex Very anxious as reports say it will be worse than the Christmas storm of 2013 and UK Power Networks performance then was abysmal. Afterwards it was "lessons have been learned"

The people minimising it have short memories.

Haggisfish · 08/02/2020 23:52

Windy in Worcestershire!

Meckity1 · 08/02/2020 23:53

Also in Leeds, a little blowy now. To be honest, it's bad enough for an ordinary storm. I hope it won't get worse, even though the forecast says it will.

KenAdams · 08/02/2020 23:57

The Western Power map is already showing about 2000 properties without power mostly on the SW coast and Derbyshire.

colouringinpro · 08/02/2020 23:58

Getting really blowy here in Bucks....
