We have FINALLY got snow in south W Midlands!! Big chunks, but I'm sure knowing my luck it won't last!

GallicosCats · 01/02/2019 18:20

Loads more snow here but like LadyFlumpalot's picture earlier, it's awfully wet and only settling in odd patches. Felt more like sleet when I went to the garage just now.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 01/02/2019 18:21

Nothing here.

LadyFlumpalot · 01/02/2019 18:27

Jeezus! Just looked on the webcam for Blackbushe airfield and well. Yeah.

The video will run a couple of seconds, freeze then restart.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/02/2019 18:28

Yay Gloria!!

I have absolutely bucketfuls! Its gorgeous - just falling in massive lumps, undoing all of the melt that the sleet did.

Off for another walk!

Had fun sledging etc
Couldn't get into work as our road doesn't get gritted it's awful!!

nannynick · 01/02/2019 18:32

A walk OYBBK? Actually it might be quite nice going along lit sections of pavement in this snow.

arealnamechanger · 01/02/2019 18:35

So much here near Farnham! Don’t think we’ll be venturing far from home tomorrow —though lack of wine might force my hand—

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 01/02/2019 18:36

Love the snow in the distance photos LadyFlumpalot That’s exactly what I’ve got.

MeetOnTheledge · 01/02/2019 18:44

DH is on the M3 near Blackbushe Sad

GloriaSmud · 01/02/2019 18:55

JustLurkingAway ~ we might be in for a few snow showers overnight. I posted earlier that I thought that the wind had changed direction so was bringing more showers my way (Leicester.) I see another one incoming so hopefully another 20-30 minutes and it should be with me and I'll send it along to you when I've finished with it!

Oh MeetOnTheledge Sad I'm sure I heard something about the M3 just now on the travel news and looking at the TrafficEngland cameras here, conditions look awful at the moment. Hope he makes it home soon.

Donatinasdonutdelight · 01/02/2019 19:02

MeetOnTheLedge m3 is shut between Winchester and hook due to 3 Jacknifed lorries! I hope your Dh gets home safe soon

GloriaSmud · 01/02/2019 19:08

M3 closure. Basingstoke is gridlocked.

gttia · 01/02/2019 19:08

We got nothing here in Dartford. I was so confident I turned my daughter's alarm clocks off lol. They were a little unhappy when I got them up ha ha

MeetOnTheledge · 01/02/2019 19:10

He went Hook to Farnborough, is now on A31 so good progress

Patchworkpatty · 01/02/2019 19:19

Dd is on a coach returning to Kent from Plymouth. Left at 11am. Now on M3 at Winchester...
I'll be picking up at gone midnight at this rate....

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/02/2019 19:21

Went for a walk. It's quite alarming how many trees are coming down under the weight of the snow, ran past one cracking above us.

Chipsahoy · 01/02/2019 19:33

I'm in a town just a mile or so outside of leicester and we don't have anything at all yet!

nannynick · 01/02/2019 19:33

I went for a short walk (10 min circular), no trees cracking yet near my home. Hope it stays that way as the roads are a nightmare without trees coming down as well.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/02/2019 19:33

That's good Meet.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/02/2019 19:38

I'd be very careful in that warning area (and surrounds) - lots of trees coming down across roads now according to twitter. Don't travel through it unless you absolutely have to.

Donatinasdonutdelight · 01/02/2019 19:41

MeetOnTheledge that's good to hear.

Gloria Basingstoke is absolute carnage right now Dh is a nurse and has just walked 45 minutes to get to the hospital for a night shift as the roads are completely gridlocked

LadyFlumpalot · 01/02/2019 19:48

I think what's amazing me the most is how localised this whole thing has been. We had barely anything here, yet Shaftesbury has been in the BBC news for the amount of snowfall. I can SEE Shaftesbury from my house!

MeetOnTheledge · 01/02/2019 19:55

DH is home now, phew.
