It's crap isn't it the sleet. Poor kids who made it into school when so many schools are closed are now having it washed away just as they. leave.

South Eastern Rail are telling passengers to go home early.

It's been snowing like this ALL DAY but just will not settle and the overnight fall has all melted.

Ok it's back in Surrey! Loads of it.

I've got heavy snow too now. Its falling on to slush but starting to settle.

It’s snowing in Kent, but it isn’t forecast to be, according to the reports. Not settling though because of the wet ground from all-day rain. Will it settle later do you think OYBBK and Gloria?

Oddgirlout ~ it might. Maybe if the ground temperatures/other factors involved are right, it might start settling.

I think the wind might have changed direction slightly as the streams of showers that have been avoiding Leicester all day, seem to be heading a bit more in my direction. I might get at least a small snow shower out of today after all!

Is there any more snow for the sw?

The photos don't show it very well but the hills on the other side of the valley which are higher up still have a blanket of snow.

MrsFiddymont ~ perhaps apart from the odd snow/sleet shower, conditions should begin to ease in the SW now.

new warnings for some central southern areas. Unsurprising, but I think these should have come earlier - so that commuters could plan to leave early.

The region in the new warning area is showing stationary snow for quite a while. So take this quite seriously. It's not exactly Bodmin Moor, but it's going to be a potentially difficult drive home, especially given the earlier sleet washing away useful grit.

Coming down steady now in Surrey/Berkshire border area (Bagshot/M3J3). So glad my lovely boss came back from her work early and let me go home early.

Me too I'm in camberley / frimley

Another one here from Hampshire, I'm in basingstoke and we've got absolute snowmageddon. It's been snowing heavily since 1ish and the whole town is completely gridlocked!

Leicester has finally got its snow!!
A brief snow shower and there were some big flakes in there for a while so there's a slight covering. Looking at the radar, there might be some more to come over the evening.

Light snow in SW Surrey which is starting to settle a bit. I think we might be at the outer edge of the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire front.
