This image isn’t the one I meant but it gives a good idea
The link seems to show some cooling in England by the weekend (SE still dark red though)

Power and water supply issues wont help the British economy.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2018 21:49

Neither will the farming issues.

SimonBridges · 24/07/2018 22:13

It is currently 27° in my living room.
My bedroom is warmer so I’m guessing about 30.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2018 22:18

here too :( and the poxy alarm is going off at 5:30.
waaaah.

Morning all, after a bit of weather help if you can spare it please Ohyoubadbadkitten & Gloria? Off camping at a festival in SE Cornwall for 4 days tomorrow and trying to make a guess at the weather. My Met Office and Accuweather apps and metcheck say dry and possibly some tiny showers sunday/monday. But BBC is forecasting rain all day Friday and Sunday. I've given up on the BBC weather this year really and tend to rely on the Met Office but would be great if you have any insight. We will go anyway and be prepared for all weather but as it was a mudbath last year would be good to have an idea as to what to expect. Thanks for all your hard work with weather help, it's great.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/07/2018 07:50

There is a chance of showers Fri-Sunday Cumberlover, but also plenty of fine dry weather. Temps in the low 20s.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 25/07/2018 07:58

Still no idea what Kent's going to do on the 4th - 11th August. Is it too far ahead to forecast? I'm thinking that if it's still this hot, they'll schedule all the really strenuous activities in the mornings. Even then it's quite hot, although I've looked up their weather now and it's about 5° cooler than here. Envy

princesstiasmum · 25/07/2018 08:03

Very light short shower here yesterday.hot and dry today

Cumberlover76 · 25/07/2018 08:06

Thanks OYBBK, sounds fine. The earth is so dry imagine any rain will just disappear when it hits the ground unless there is tons!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/07/2018 08:07

Perfectly I still wouldn't forecast that far in advance, it's been continuously inaccurate that far out, showing a breakdown in the heat that never comes.

Zommum · 25/07/2018 08:09

I'm jealous it's winter where I live.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 25/07/2018 08:26

Google's predicting thunder there on Friday and heavy rain on Monday, I'm Hmm. I'll believe it when I see it.

TuesdaysAreGrim · 25/07/2018 09:08

Please someone tell me this is a sick joke.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/07/2018 09:55

Latest Met office contingency planners info is out. It's the closest you'll get to to a long term forecast. Note that it's all about comparisons to a base average level with percentage likelihood of it falling into certain categories, so it's not the usual sort of forecast.

I don't put hidden clicky links anymore for security reasons. You can see where the links are from.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/07/2018 09:57

To summarise them August-October is likely to stay hotter than average and quite likely to continue drier than average. In other words at the moment the balance of probability is that we are in this for the long term.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/07/2018 10:03

Tuesdays depending on where the location is, that seems like a reasonable forecast at present.

TuesdaysAreGrim · 25/07/2018 10:06

October? Fecking OCTOBER?! Please tell me we're not looking at upwards of 30 degrees into October.

Fatbelliedgirl · 25/07/2018 10:19

Think how wonderfully cool it will feel once temperatures eventually get below 16c...how wonderful it will be when we get our first autumn gales and rain...I will never again complain about cold weather.

Fatbelliedgirl · 25/07/2018 10:20

September onwards the strength of the sun weakens, so even if it does stay hot it won't feel as hot, if that makes sense.

TuesdaysAreGrim · 25/07/2018 10:26

I've never complained about cold weather in my life, I had a whale of a time last winter, it was great.

TuesdaysAreGrim · 25/07/2018 10:27

I can cope with 25/26, especially if the nights are cool.

It's when we start hitting 30 plus that I can't deal with it.

gleegeek · 25/07/2018 10:33

We have a week off to go caravanning next week sat-sat. We're in Surrey and finding it a bit hot tbh. We haven't booked anywhere yet... could you suggest a direction where we'd probably get lovely weather but temps about 21-25° rather than low 30s????? I know I'm asking a lot! Thank you x

GloriaSmud · 25/07/2018 10:34

Today's thoughts from TheWeatherOutlook and Netweather. Could be interesting to see who ends up with thunderstorms in the next few days ~ slight chance tomorrow but an increased one on Friday.

'Tis a cloudy and muggy 21C here (Leicester)

BlurTomato · 25/07/2018 10:38

There seems no end to this bad news. My children's eczema is all over the place. Sad
