Yes, that looks about right to me, if we don't get any clag from the storms.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 11/07/2018 12:32

I’m always pro-thunderstorm but I shall gallantly go against this one if it means the orange sex pest gets a better protest turn out!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/07/2018 12:33

Thanks fox Grin

magimedi · 12/07/2018 07:57

Give a big shout from me, please, OYBBK

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2018 08:16

Will do Magi. There is a chance of showers in the afternoon, but I don't think they will be too much of a bother.

oldsilver · 12/07/2018 08:54

It is actually raining in Bristol, proper rain. It's been a while (17 degrees at the mo, positively chilly!) - the lawn is looking brown instead of yellow!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2018 08:57

I suppose I ought to look at the forecast beyond the specificities of London tomorrow afternoon Grin

MarthasGinYard · 12/07/2018 09:03

I'm off to Rural Shropshire/welsh border for a week starting Monday 16th July

Showing rain everyday atmSad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/07/2018 09:07

North west England and parts of northern Wales may see thunderstorms later today.

Delatron · 12/07/2018 10:17

I remember the nice weather broke at exactly the same time last year (11th July). I had a lunch and was planning a summery dress, had to change in to jeans and never wore my summer dresses again that year!!
Voice of doom!

It’s interesting that it is panning out similar to last year, though the heat and dry spell started much earlier and was more consistent.

Hopefully we will get some brief rain and then it will perk up again.

Hangingaroundtheportal · 12/07/2018 10:39

The weather app Yr. No (which I think is quite good?) is showing rain in the SE from next Weds til Sat when the 10 day forecast runs out.

Really hoping for good weather on the other side of the rain!

MinorRSole · 12/07/2018 10:45

@LighthouseSouth it's pretty rubbish up here just now. That light drizzle that just fills the air it's very grey and over cast. We aren't forecast much of an improvement any time soon. It's not stopping the dolphins though so if you do come up check out the rspb fb page for details on when and where to see them.

GloriaSmud · 12/07/2018 11:02

Updated thunderstorm weather warning from the metoffice (extending the warning a bit further east) but it sort of fits with the map on Netweather's storm forecast here.

More thoughts from Netweather and TheWeatherOutlook.

LighthouseSouth · 12/07/2018 11:09

@MinorSole6

Thanks, I didn't know about the dolphins, yay!

Still unsure about going, found a great hotel deal but flights extortionate at short notice, we are only going to escape the heat in London. One forecast is marking that down now, so confusing.

SimonBridges · 12/07/2018 18:30

Is there anywhere I can check the last time it rained where I am? I honestly can’t remember!

user546425732 · 13/07/2018 01:16

I was looking for that the other day, you might be able to get met office rain station data. I got it through uni though. It rained here today.

GloriaSmud · 13/07/2018 14:55

Some thundery showers showing up here and lightning strikes here.

'Tis a muggy 26C here (Leicester) I'm sooo hoping the line of rain/storms showing up on the netweather radar over Wales, makes its way slowly over my way and there'll be rain later.

Delatron · 13/07/2018 15:01

I have an outdoor event/ pretty dress no jacket type affair tonight. So after weeks of lovely weather and no rain I’d rather it held off here! Beautiful sunshine at the moment and every weather forecast saying a different thing but I’m going with the met office which shows only a small chance of rain.

LapdanceShoeshine · 13/07/2018 15:36

Traditional NW-England-only weather this morning Grin

Glad of the rain here, though more of a sprinkle than a soak, but it’s stayed cloudy all day & the house is lovely & cool inside. Bliss.

Have you seen the weather forecast for next week?!
GloriaSmud · 13/07/2018 16:29

In that case Delatron, may the rain stay away until after your event!

We're off on holiday tomorrow so lots to do. I really don't want to have to spend an hour watering everything at the allotment this evening. I keep looking at the netweather radar, trying to judge whether any of the showers are going to make it my way.

IrenetheQuaint · 13/07/2018 20:56

It's raining in London! Shock

Etymology23 · 13/07/2018 22:00

Do you guys know if there is a site that shows historic weather data in a tabular format, please? I want to look up when it last rained where I live! Hope people are enjoying the rain, nothing here yet!

SimonBridges · 13/07/2018 22:31

Here is historical data that you can search by day.
www.timeanddate.com/weather/uk/london/historic

Looking at where I live the last time it rained was a month ago today, and that was just drizzle.

GloriaSmud · 14/07/2018 06:40

Good website there, SimonBridges! Can't remember the last time we had rain ~ possibly late May/early June. And we didn't get any yesterday ~ after all the radar watching and dark clouds that formed, it all went north of us and hit Nottingham. So it was off to the allotment last night for a watering session!

Etymology23 · 14/07/2018 08:04

Thank you! Looks like we haven’t had anything here for more than a month - it’s astonishing how dusty everything is getting without it.
