To complement the Summer weather thread.

Tomorrow could see some thunderstorms in places across England, but by tomorrow evening, the main area of risk appears to be in the central southern areas (revised forecast from earlier) , where frequent lightning and small hail could form in any storms that evolve.

south Midlands are most at risk for homegrown storms,

Lovely and sunny here - we're out in the garden :-)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/05/2018 16:19

Great, thanks Lubey :)

That's the nature of thunderstorms User, usually, they tend to be pretty focused. Last night was an exception.

Dark skies to the south and west here (Leicester) and just heard a rumble of thunder.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/05/2018 17:03

I'm jealous! We ended up seeing very little last night and I fear it will be the same again with storms initiating to the north of us.

GloriaSmud · 27/05/2018 17:07

I'm not sure where our 'rumble' came from ~ think it might be from the Rugby area, where it seems to be really kicking off!

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 27/05/2018 17:08

Thunderstorms near Birmingham atm. Got woke by one last night. Was very annoying.

youarenotkiddingme · 27/05/2018 17:15

Well the storm forecast for 7am just as I needed to leave house hit on time 😫

The amount of rain on roads was ridiculous. But as I travelled west about 8 miles it was only slightly raining and about 25 miles west it was bone dry!!!!

user546425732 · 27/05/2018 17:18

We can hear the thunderstorms now, they are rumbling away whilst we are sitting outside in the sunshine.

They seem to be about 7-15 miles away according to the lightning map.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/05/2018 17:18

That'll be from sunny Nunny (ton) Gloria.

Here we have also been hearing thunder from much further away than one would expect, probably due to the prevailing winds.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/05/2018 17:24

How is Ds with thunder youaren't?

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 27/05/2018 17:30

Just starting again by Birmingham airport

youarenotkiddingme · 27/05/2018 17:42

Black usually he's terrified. He looked quite anxious this morning whilst we drove in it but didn't refuse to leave the house as I'd expected! I wonder if it was nighttime though he'd have been worse? What about your 2?

GloriaSmud · 27/05/2018 18:17

Sky has gone very dark here with a couple more rumbles. Wind's dropped which has made it seem even more humid.

grounddown · 27/05/2018 18:23

West midlands again, we flooded :(
Dcs aged 5 and 6 and I had to empty the garage in a mad panic. Still thundering but no rain, will give the drains chance to process all this standing water.

SoleBizzz · 27/05/2018 18:25

Supposed to be the best thunder and lightning ever seen here in Birmingham last night but i misssed it as i slept all the way through it! Thundering and lightning here now. Our road is flooded, over car wheel arch height.

gallicgirl · 27/05/2018 18:31

We had nothing in South Essex but the storm in Kent was so big we watched the lightning from across the Thames. It was so weird. Felt like War of the Worlds!

BlackeyedSusan · 27/05/2018 18:34

They seem ok at the moment youaren't. Both slept through the worst last night. Unlike me. I did get to see lightning go round in a loop tho.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/05/2018 18:34

Sorry to those oided. Hope no damage done.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/05/2018 18:35

Flooded ffs

LighthouseSouth · 27/05/2018 18:35

I wish we were having a storm in London
Air is thick with humidity.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/05/2018 19:22

That's a lot of rain sole!

I hope there's no damage done.
