To complement the Summer weather thread.

Tomorrow could see some thunderstorms in places across England, but by tomorrow evening, the main area of risk appears to be in the central southern areas (revised forecast from earlier) , where frequent lightning and small hail could form in any storms that evolve.

There's lots over France!

So this evenings risk I think remains mostly in the south this time.

Any idea on tomorrow West Sussex
Met office says none and bbc says thunder all day

youarenotkiddingme · 28/05/2018 18:33

It's definitely stormy feeling and humid!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/05/2018 18:43

It's possible tomorrow, but less likely.

LighthouseSouth · 28/05/2018 18:45

In my area, forecasters are just covering themselves by saying possible storms all,the time for next three days!

WilliamLilliam · 28/05/2018 18:48

I'm just not sure why two forecasts are so different haha

AdeliciousRex · 28/05/2018 18:58

I could have sworn I heard thunder rumbles in Birmingham earlier but weather report not mentioning any today. Maybe I've started to imagine it!

Rinceoir · 28/05/2018 19:30

Loud thunder in north London but no rain/lightning just yet. Sky just went very dark so I’m sure it won’t be lono.

Rinceoir · 28/05/2018 19:30

Long!!

Wiifitmama · 28/05/2018 19:31

I am NW London and the last 30 minutes have been a continuous distant rumble of thunder with what seems like no breaks at all. Getting closer now. No lightening and no rain. Fluffy white clouds in the sky. It is very unnerving!

Rinceoir · 28/05/2018 19:40

Really strange isn’t it. We’ve had the same for an hour or so but suddenly sky has gone dark and just started raining now.

Wiifitmama · 28/05/2018 20:06

Well that was so strange. Eventually the rain hit, just as BGT Live show went kaput due to the weather here! It moved through fairly quickly and now there is bright sky and a rainbow. No lightening at all, but it was about 45 minutes of constant, very loud thunder.

Rinceoir · 28/05/2018 20:08

Still raining here but sun shining in distance. Thunder has stopped.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/05/2018 20:18

This is going to seem really rude, I don't mean it to at all, but just to say in general to people, as it's such a common error. Maybe it's an autocorrect thing. Lightning doesn't have an e in it.

There's a lot across the channel still.

Are those likely to come this way OYBBK? (I'm in East Surrey). Nothing showing on the forecasts but we are still under a yellow warning for rain.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/05/2018 20:30

They are Titsy, but I don't know how much will get killed off by the Channel.

What do the green lines mean on the lightningmaps?

SilverHawk · 28/05/2018 21:03

Is West Sussex in for another one today?
We had a storm at about 2pm. It only felt fresher for about 20 minutes.
Then sun, rain, sun
Let's see Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/05/2018 21:31

I think Kent will bear the brunt of the incoming storms tonight.

LighthouseSouth · 28/05/2018 22:06

According to Twitter, everything is approaching from every possible direction. Grin

RatOnnaStick · 28/05/2018 22:46

It's so odd looking at the lightning tracker just across the channel giving every appearance of heading straight for me when the BBC forecast only says light rain and breezy with no mention of storms at all.
