met office be prepared warnings nothing too major for most, though some western and southern coastal areas could have quite a lively night tomorrow night.

Not as bad as Eleanor Gertrude fortunately, then by Sunday a quieter period.

Why are forecasters and news readers calling it Storm 'Ellena'? It's Eleanor.

Seemed to have had another wind weather warning slip in overnight, for today until 7pm (don't remember that being there last night!)

Yes, snuck in through the catflap overnight, that one did!

Not seen much sign of high winds yet ~ think from midday onwards for us.

Was coming back in to say it's still incredibly windy in the west but it's all stopped and we now have sunshine! Ok there's some of the river in next doors garden but hey it was a very high tide and as long as it stays next door that's fine by me (happens to them every so often and doesn't damage the house or anything, fact of life living at sea level by a river!)

oldsilver · 04/01/2018 12:43

Yup, it's a bit breezy out there today in Briz - watching full dustbins dance down the road...

Gertrudethestag · 04/01/2018 12:51

Unfortunately the high winds & tide caused quite a bit of destruction where I live in the SW. We were expecting the winds last night and according to Windy.com we are set for a brief period of high winds again tonight. Luckily it looks nice and calm in comparison after that Smile

Looking forward to a full night sleep & no roof tiles going missing for a change!

brizzledrizzle · 04/01/2018 12:59

Yes, we've been watching the bin dance as well.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/01/2018 13:11

It's getting fairly windy where I am in central southern England.

Just started getting gusty here as well (Leicester) and as we've had a bin collection today, everyones bins are going over.

I have the washing out ~ it's pegged down well Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 04/01/2018 16:16

it started getting windy here at about 12.20pm,
