met office be prepared warnings nothing too major for most, though some western and southern coastal areas could have quite a lively night tomorrow night.

looks like an isolated tornado may be possible from the squall line after all. If anyone in the Se gets an interesting pattern of damage evident, please can you pm me.

Just had to run into my driveway and rescue rubbish as my recycling bin fell over! Ugh. Now can't sleep!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2018 02:07

sleep is for wimps Grin

I might not be saying that when I'm back at work tomorrow am.

I’m still up. Bloody wind has picked up again. Thank goodness I don’t have work tomorrow.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 03/01/2018 02:14

LondonLassInTheCountry · 03/01/2018 04:04

Listening to the wind.

We have lost power once but only briefly.
Got the emergency oxygen tanks ready.

Hurry up the day of light!

OrlandaFuriosa · 03/01/2018 04:45

Still pretty windy but no sound from the dog downstairs so am assuming all ok. .

Ah, a sound like a train approaching outside,

brizzledrizzle · 03/01/2018 07:24

Still v. Windy here, I think we are putting off our journey today.

GloriaSmud · 03/01/2018 07:25

Latest updates from the metoffice and the BBC.

Not too bad here (Leicester) Blowy with the odd gust. I heard the letter box open and close against the front door a few minutes ago!

SideOrderofSprouts · 03/01/2018 07:32

Trees down and some flooding here already. Am getting dh to take
The girls tomschool as so
Many back roads closed

GloriaSmud · 03/01/2018 07:56

Think that xcweather wind observation page has had a bit of a blip ~ it's just recorded a 550mph gust at Lands End Airport!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2018 08:14

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2018 08:21

Well I am regretting my flippancy yesterday :o I'm in the north east and understand we didn't even have the worst of it

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2018 08:36

ah, don't be regretting it, it was a relief that someone had actually noticed the thread. I was wondering if I should start streaking naked across the boards!

Still windy here. Noisy overnight with the wind in the chimney. Our trampoline is on it's side - the trees at the bottom of the garden stopped it going further.

Wetoopere · 03/01/2018 09:46

Cumbria here. Flooded round the coast but we are not so bad. Doesn’t feel that windy —by our standards—

ChasedByBees · 03/01/2018 10:51

It woke my husband in the night at 2am sounding like a train down the street. A fence is leaning but otherwise no damage.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/01/2018 14:14

A few trees down around here and fences of course, but nothing structural.

OP posts:
Maudlinmaud · 03/01/2018 15:19

Well I'm pleased I still have my trampoline weighed down with blocks. Eleanor was much worse than Ophelia, our power was out until 10am. Lots of trees down in the area and some structural damage reported.
Gusts of 90mph in the worst hit places.

Gertrudethestag · 03/01/2018 15:23

It's been awful here on the SW coast. I believe we're also expecting further storms soon Brew
