Another severe storm 2nd/3rd November?

Quite possible I'm afraid.

Very early days in forecasting land but it has been showing in the models for a couple of days already.

GFS takes a deep low across northern scotland which would bring gales (severe??) to southern Scotland and northern England.

ECMWF and UKMO have it less deep but further south and not causing nearly so many issues.

NAVGEM brings possibly severe gales to England

GFS spotted last nights storm very early on and actually wasnt a bad forecast. We need to keep an eye on the situation.

Very windy in Bournemouth too, some very strong gusts

GoofyIsACow · 02/11/2013 15:31

NW on the coast here, just had terrible thunder and lightning, very windy all gone quiet and nice blue sky now!

TerrorTremor · 02/11/2013 15:38

What is Weymouth/Portland looking like tonight/tomorrow?

I'm up in Cardiff tomorrow, buggery.

We're also going to be going on a plan on Monday in Bristol. My Mum is a terrible flier.

Double buggery.

GreenShadow · 02/11/2013 15:38

Hello all.
Very windy in Gloucestershire right now- again, much worse than last week's non-event.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2013 15:49

Worcestershire calling. It's way windier than last week here too.

youarewinning · 02/11/2013 15:53

We has a right squall and high winds pass through over an hour ago. Its now very gusty and keeps raining on and off - South Coast.

My concern is how satuated ground already is and the lose power lines are only held up temporarily atm.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/11/2013 16:08

Had an accident with chillis. Will update weather when not dancing about in pain.

17leftfeet · 02/11/2013 16:29

It's getting very windy here in West Yorkshire -I thought we were avoiding the weather!

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 02/11/2013 16:32

South west Wales coast here : bloody windy!! Reports to tree blown over.

Hope you're ok OYBBK

PestoPyrotechnissimos · 02/11/2013 16:35

It's gales again down here with a whole heap of rain thrown in for good measure!

Am hoping we don't get any structural damage this time...

Naoko · 02/11/2013 16:36

Bloody awful here on the NW Welsh coast. It's let up a little now but we had a staggering thunderstorm earlier, horrible powerspikes so we're a few more lightbulbs down (and I think I've run out of spares), and I'm glad I hadn't tidied up the garden yet from last week because I'd only have to do it again.

Annoyingly, I forgot some stuff in my weekly shop yesterday so I'm actually going to have to go out in it. Anyone want to bet on how far down the road I'll find the recycling bin I forgot to bring in last night?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/11/2013 16:37

I'm in Warwickshire and it's very windy here and it keeps raining on and off. It's much worse than the last 'storm' which didn't really happen here I think the bonfire/firework display may be off tonight!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/11/2013 16:44

highest gust i can find in your region at 4pm was Leek 46mph,

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/11/2013 16:47

Were they home grown chillies kitten? Grin Ours were evil this year!
Off to a firework party in a couple of hours here in Nottingham. Just how wet and blown about are we going to be? Grin

Naoko · 02/11/2013 16:54

Yeah, at least one fireworks display round here is cancelled tonight. I imagine others will be too, wouldn't be safe at all in this weather, never mind miserable. It really is absolutely awful up here - I'm outside Bangor, in view of the Menai Strait and we're pretty used to windy weather, but still.

starsandunicorns · 02/11/2013 17:01

Llareggub · 02/11/2013 17:08

I'm on Swansea Bay. My guttering on the garage is looking vulnerable at the moment. It is so windy! My sons are travelling back from Warwickshire tomorrow, I hope it will be ok.

17leftfeet · 02/11/2013 17:10
