met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

No sign of any snow here in North Yorkshire. Although I think its forecast from tomorrow and it could be sleet as apposed to just snow. according to DH and not the met office

SconeInSixtySeconds · 09/02/2013 11:21

Bah. Turned to rain and now it's all gone :(

MegGriffin · 09/02/2013 11:35

Weather warning has moved down a bit in the south east

mankyscotslass · 09/02/2013 11:40

No, no no, if it moves any further south it means even less chance for us.

Any one fancy a snow tug of war? Grin

pepperrabbit · 09/02/2013 11:47

NE Hants - We've had a glamorous mix of sleet/rain/snow all morning (which I'm sure wasn't forecast when I went to bed last night Confused)
So cold, grey and a bit miserable really!
Forecast now is for sleet, drizzle, snow and heavy rain over the next 48 hours - I think they may be trying to cover all bases so no one can complain Hmm

InMySpareTime · 09/02/2013 11:47

If there's a snow tug-of-war, I'm on Manky's team (heeeere snowy snowy, gooood snow, c'mere snow, you know you'll be very welcomeSmile)

MegGriffin · 09/02/2013 12:02

Now,now lets all share nicely

DamnDeDoubtance · 09/02/2013 12:32

Fingers crossed for snow in the south.

GloriaSnow · 09/02/2013 12:39

Hoping for a nice lot of snow here

mumat39 · 09/02/2013 12:43

Looks like it's still going to miss us even though it's moved south. :(

mankyscotslass · 09/02/2013 12:52

MooseyMoo · 09/02/2013 13:02

W Oxon
We had snow this morning, barely settling and is now more rain but every so often sleet.

reastie · 09/02/2013 13:12

Keeping an eye on this thread for snow moving southwards. Met office seem to have extended warning of snow into Kent this morning.

mankyscotslass · 09/02/2013 14:38

Dry and grey here so far!

mankyscotslass · 09/02/2013 14:40

Dry and grey here so far!

WhispersOfWickedness · 09/02/2013 15:40

We look like one of the only areas not in the warning area now Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2013 17:39

Pepper, the nae showed the sleety snowy rain mix last night.

Still unsure about tomorrow. need it to come This Way.

Still Wednesday might be rather good in my area......... :)

OP posts:
DamnDeDoubtance · 09/02/2013 17:40

Pah, the bbc forecast now saying no snow for is.

pigsinmud · 09/02/2013 17:43

Ooh kitten spill the beans about Wednesday! Is mid surrey in the firing line?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2013 17:49

Latest nae has snow scraping the Hampshire Berkshire border, so further south in central southern England than the met office warning and by Monday morning wOOHOO!!!!!! [[

And breathe.
Tis just one model and the way it changes every model run anyway.......

I often talk about how unpredictable snow can be and blimey, this one is impossible!

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2013 17:54

Schilke, possibly :) but as I (and it seems every other forecaster) is struggling with tomorrow (especially tomorrow night!) I think it's wise to not try and see too much into it at the moment!

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2013 17:59

None for us in Worcestershire. (Haven't looked at the forecast-I have just decided that).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/02/2013 18:09

So my current best guess for tomorrow is......

Tomorrow morning rain will move in rapidly across Wales and England. It will be snowy in the Pennines and the north east pretty much as soon as it reaches those areas. Elsewhere it may be a sleety wet snowy rainy sort of mix.

As we get to the evening it looks like it will become increasingly wintery in many places (with the exception I think of southern Wales, the Sw and the southern coastal counties)

Later on Sunday night I think that the snow risk may extend further south, not reaching the coast apart from maybe Kent and west sussex. i think that the Berkshire/north Hampshire/Surrey/oxfordshire area may possibly be in for a pleasant surprise come Monday morning too.
Manchester doesn't to seem to get a lot from what I can see I'm afraid

Remember the above is subject to massive uncertainty!!!!!

Thanks OYBBK. I think I may have to prepare myself that there may be some.

fatsatsuma · 09/02/2013 18:16

OYBBK, I'm so pleased that (at this stage at least Grin) you have a reason to hope for snow, knowing that you are a fellow snow-lover.

One question I have is over temperatures - I am watching the forecast for our area (n oxon) and the possibility of snow seems to come and go - but it doesn't seem cold enough - now or later on when the snow is forecast. How does that work?
