met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

Kitten can I ask a question please? On our London and the south east yellow warning it says up tp 10 cm on Sunday and also on the Monday warning. Do you think worse case we could get up to 20 cm??

pigsinmud · 07/02/2013 20:14

The south east warning makes me laugh. Snow warning, but heavy rain forecast!

BehindLockNumberNine · 07/02/2013 20:17

schilke that is funny but makes me cry! I want snow, lashings of it!! Grin

pigsinmud · 07/02/2013 20:34

Behindlocknumbernine - I want it to snow too. I had forgotten all about snow and had moved on to the idea of spring. However, one mention on here and I'm back obsessively checking various weather websites. I even looked on metcheck - just for a thrill, you understand - they have forecast really heavy snow all Sunday night in my area. Sigh, if only it would come true!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/02/2013 21:07

Meg, hypothetically..... But I didn't want to say anything because it very well may not happen. But technically speaking I think it is possible.

Bamderchang too early to say, this system isn't at all pinned down yet. I'm sorry I can't help more at the moment but I will post updates. I think disruption is moderately likely.

Thing is though we're under the snow warning it's still showing as heavy rain on met office... Am in north Sussex/Surrey borders and really confused?

hopenglory · 07/02/2013 21:24

Oh we even have a warning (again) for snow on Monday for Devon Shock

Wishful thinking I reckon Grin

MegGriffin · 07/02/2013 21:26

Snowing here at the moment! Big fat blobs in west sussex. Didn't expect that at all.
Thanks kitten, fingers crossed for 20cm.

Meglet · 07/02/2013 21:30

Sad. Please no more snow, no more cold .

Marking place to keep an eye on things.

MegGriffin · 07/02/2013 21:34

Think its going to turn to rain but temporarily has a coverering on the wheel bin, tops of cars and grass.

MrsAFlowerpot · 07/02/2013 21:49

I would really really like snow on Sunday night into Monday in S Herts/N London as I REALLY want a snow day - still bitter Envy

The following week (18th) we're heading north for half term and I do not want snow then. None.

Demanding I know Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/02/2013 22:00

Ppp, it's because at the moment it looks more likely to be heavy rain. However there is a fairly reasonable chance that it may be heavy snow instead which obv would have a big impact. So they have to warn of the possibility.

Ahh ok. I'll hope for the white stuff but try not to be disappointed then Wink

Tortoise · 07/02/2013 22:56

Just seen on the weather possible snow in SW Sunday. I really hope we get some! Grin

BehindLockNumberNine · 07/02/2013 23:00

I really really really really want some snow..... North west Surrey here, please please please let it snow once more

digerd · 08/02/2013 07:15

S.Herts
-1 in the night and still is. Sky all CLEAR atm but sun not yet visible. No white frost either on the grass. Perhaps another sunny morning. Been lucky with the sunshine. While at the hospital, a winter flowing Jasmine shrub was in flower. Pining for spring, here.

LottieJenkins · 08/02/2013 07:56

Has been snowing here in Suffolk. Not a great deal but was quite hard when i went to put Bumbledog out for a wee. He poked his nose out of the door and then looked at me as if was off my trolley nd went back up the stairs to bed!
Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/02/2013 08:04

Not forgotten you all but ran out of time this morning. Will catch up with you all this evening. Sorry.

Now sun is up can see the frost on the grass., but no wind. Just 0 degrees now. Another sunny day/ morning for us

WhispersOfWickedness · 08/02/2013 09:40

-2 this morning, brrr.

Hope the snow forecast on Sunday doesn't last too long, got a busy week next week!

StairsInTheNight · 08/02/2013 10:26

More sleet for London on Sunday then? Accumulations, my arse Grin

GloriaSnow · 08/02/2013 10:30

Not that cold here (Leicester) last night, down to -0.9C.

Interested to see whether we get any snow and how much over the weekend. According to the metoffice, we're down for heavy snow all through Sunday. Might have to bring the sledge out of storage!

MySweetPrince · 08/02/2013 13:30

OYBBK - The forecaster on BBC South East this morning said that the low pressure system was difficult to predict and was "giving them gyp" - is this the new technical term for "haven't got a clue".Hmm

mumat39 · 08/02/2013 14:18

Poo and double poo!!!

The warning has moved away from us in SW London. I want snow but it doesn't look like we'll be getting any now. Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/02/2013 16:13

It is MSP but it looks at the moment like the south will escape from it with Essex being the potential dividing line at the moment.

met office explanation

it may all still change.
