Snow Watch Part 4. The Winter continues....

met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

I usually love it Sparklingbrook, but I'm just a bit twitch about DH tonight.

I know you have logistical problems though if it snows - I'm local to everything here and the kids school is literally a 10 minute walk.

Sky is full of snow here, but not falling!

Well every weather forecast says different so I am a bit lost. Confused Weather lady on the TV says yes. Web sites say no.

It's a very transitory affair today, best spots are going to be in the midlands, though later on I think it will turn to rain in the West Midlands. Looks likely to make its way deep into southern England for a bit, staying as rain in the sw and may well turn back to sleet before it reaches the SE late afternoon.

Aw it's stopped - just a very light dusting, but it looks ready to start again!

I'm in work all day today, trapped in a class with 30 5 year olds - they are going to be hyper if it snows properly!

2 hours earlier than forecast and it's just started snowing here (Leicester.)

Sparkling ~ DDs are on 1/2 term hol atm but go to an out-of-catchment area school (so it's down to us to get them there and back), 6 miles away and I know when snow's forecast, I go through the 'will they/won't they open and how bad will the the roads be' and if snow's falling and the roads are getting bad, I have thoughts of 'should I go and pick them up early and will the school think I'm a wimp if I do'. I hate the uncertainty weekday snow brings.

Hope your OH's and Dc's get back home safely and that you're able to enjoy it later.

I'll be waiting with crossed fingers and toes and everything else that we get some down here in SW London too.

Our snow tailed off and stopped but in the last hour, it's thrown it down and we've already got about a cm, with a good covering on the grass and cars. Temperature's really dropped as well ~ it was 1.7C at 11am and now it's -0.2C.

Thanks Gloria. It has been snowing all day but not settled at all. I pick him up in an hour, It's still coming down heavily but I think I should be ok. Smile

Ah that's good news, Sparkling. Looks like it's the sort of snow that goes on for hours but the conditions aren't right for it to settle.

Yes, it has finally stopped and everywhere is just very wet. I think in my part of Worcestershire it's ok but further north there are a couple of school closures.

snowing good and proper. My very bad cat alerted me to it by suddenly sitting bolt upright on my lap. With so many flakes she has no idea which ones to watch and is trying to watch them all Grin

Snowing here but very finely. It is settling but can't see it lasting long.
