Apologies to those in Norfolk who may well not be excited any more!!!!
This a continuation of This thread and is for model watching, forecasting and general excitement Grin

Theregoesbod, sometime late morning is my guess at the moment, could vary by an hour or two either side. Or more if the models are wrong!!!

Arkady, how am I doing so far? Shout up if you disagree!!!

Place marking

thenightsky · 16/01/2013 21:49

That weather channel link says it could get as low as minus 15 on Saturday night Shock. We are meant to be off to a Panto that night.

StillSlightlyCrumpled · 16/01/2013 22:09

Marking my place. Am stressing about whether to send ds2 to school on Friday. He goes to a SN school the other side of the county in a taxi. Not a quick journey. Don't want to over react though.

Hoping it all sods off by the 26th still. Have party, dancing & alcohol planned .

DamnDeDoubtance · 16/01/2013 22:09

We have had another light dusting in East Kent. More forecast but it seems really hit and miss.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2013 22:12

Ssc, why don't you leave the decision til say 3:30pm tomorrow. You should have a good picture whilst still having time to contact taxi company and school.

Ddd if you look at the radar it really is hit and miss!

Looking at the weather channel link we're in the only bit of the south east to be in the pale blue bit with no depth stated. Harrumph. If we don't get it this time I'll cry.

TheregoesBod · 16/01/2013 22:22

OhYouBadBadKitten, many thanks. It looks like I may have to find a ahem..creative reason to drive down with the children in the morning instead of the afternoon.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 16/01/2013 22:23

MN is very slow tonight. I have been accusing husband of stealing all my bandwith but he assures me he is not. The rest of the internet seems to be working so I guess he's telling the truth.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 16/01/2013 22:24

width even.

Now have grandparents on standby for Friday just in case boys school closes early, but after Monday's disappointment remain pessimistic.

tak1ngchances · 16/01/2013 22:26

south west London, which appears to be marginal at the moment. Please snow, I missed the sad bit on Monday that didn't even settle because I was in A&E

BigStickBIWI · 16/01/2013 22:27

OYBBK - I need some words of wisdom from you, please!

DS2 has an AS re-sit on Friday morning. His college is in Esher, a good 20-30 minute drive from here, SW19 - which would be a nightmare of a drive if it's snowed. He normally goes by train, which is on the mainline out of Wimbledon to Thames Ditton - I think it's probably originally from Waterloo.

His exam will be starting at 9 which means he would have to leave home at 8. Obviously if there's a chance of snow, he will probably need to leave earlier.

What do you reckon for us on Friday morning? I'm really worried he's not going to make it in in time for the exam!

mummylin2495 · 16/01/2013 22:55

looks in hopefully to see if there will be snow in Dorset.

ArkadyRose · 16/01/2013 23:30

OYBBK Nope, no disagreements - we're seeing the same stuff & drawing the same conclusions on it I think. I wouldn't like to put my neck out and predict much beyond Saturday mind you - might have a clearer picture by this time tomorrow. DD3 is quite happy with the thought she can chuck snowballs at her dad when he gets home from work on Friday though. Smile

cluttercluttereverywhere · 17/01/2013 00:17

Following BigStickBIWI as I have to do an almost identical journey that day!

mankyscotslass · 17/01/2013 06:57

FREEZING again today.

Playground duty will not be fun!

DamnDeDoubtance · 17/01/2013 07:10

We didn't get any more, the precip remained elusive.

Do you think it will get to us tomorrow oybbk?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2013 07:18

Very quick observation, more later - tomorrow's front seems faster in arriving than it did yesterday with snow half way (ie to the Isle of Wight) by morning rush hour and across the country by school run time. Also it seems to be struggling to make it past Yorkshire for much of the day.

More info to follow soon!

Oooh the Met Office has updates the forecast for my bit of the West Sussex coast to heavy snow!!

What do the OYBBK models say - cos you're more likely to be right!Grin

Saltire · 17/01/2013 07:20

Argh, minus 5 here this morning. DH is away further south at 8am, and not due back till 5pm tomorrow, hope he doesn't get stuck.
We will monitor the road/snow.frost situation and then make a decision on if we should travel on saturday or not

DamnDeDoubtance · 17/01/2013 07:21

Sob.

abbierhodes · 17/01/2013 07:22

OYBBK- does that mean we're getting the snow today?

lubeybooby · 17/01/2013 07:26

A friend of mine is determined that he is travelling from Bristol to the Welsh valleys on Friday afternoon. I have a funny feeling he won't be!

MordionAgenos · 17/01/2013 07:28

OYBBK DS and I are supposed to be travelling from Exeter to slough, by train, Friday evening, coming back Saturday evening. It's for his big Xmas treat (big dr who convention). He will be devastated to miss it, me too (it's a great lineup, also it cost a fortune). On the other hand, having been badly caught out by the flooding just before Xmas, and being a generally nervous type, and very nesh, I don't want to be trapped somewhere in the snow either. Do you think well be ale to make our trip?
