Not with my 3 kids ohyoubadkitten. Grin

NewYearNewNagoo · 16/01/2013 18:46

placemarking.

We had a teeny bit today, that kind of splintery snow.

There are icicles on the wheely bins.

Nothing now, but it is bastard cold.

northants.

41notTrendy · 16/01/2013 18:57

Thank you kitten. Big boots needed for Beaver walk Sat pm then!

TomDaleysTrunks · 16/01/2013 19:17

Can I ask about Abergavenny on Friday please? I've got my driving test booked for 1045 Friday morning and am hoping it will be very slowly so I can't sit it. What do you reckon OYBBK?

pepperrabbit · 16/01/2013 19:20

Are we going to have a register to sign in on Friday and Sat with how many inches we got? Grin.

TheregoesBod · 16/01/2013 19:23

BadKitten - I need your Oracle meteorological powers please!

I am driving the kids from N. Surrey down to Lymington in Hampshire on Friday early afternoon, then back on Sunday afternoon.

I really don't want to drive in snow, when is it looking like reaching Surrey/Hampshire do you think?

Thank you, much appreciated!

Molepom · 16/01/2013 19:24

Sheffield

Still icy where I am, still have snow on the ground and it oh, so, bitterly cold.

pigleychez · 16/01/2013 19:46

Thanks Kitten :)

Guess DH best be emailing his boss!

Just found out though that DD's school is one of the only ones in area that never shuts in snow unless its knee deep! - My first winter as a school run mum!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 16/01/2013 20:06

Ooh! Exciting.

Supposed to be driving to London on Saturday though Confused think we might have to wait and see how well prepped the roads are!

laughalot · 16/01/2013 20:12

41nottrendy giving you a big wave from Mansfield notts.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 16/01/2013 20:28

OYBBK-sorry to add to your load but can I ask about Cambridge? I am due to work early shifts (7.30am starts) on Friday and Saturday and from 7.30am-9.30pm on Sunday, I might possibly be able to stay over on Friday but don't want to unless I have to, how are the Cambridgeshire fens looking?

GloriaSnow · 16/01/2013 20:37

Some thoughts about Friday's snow from TheWeatherChannel and Netweather.

pepperrabbit ~ yes, it'll be rulers at the ready on Friday!

DaftMaul · 16/01/2013 20:57

theregoesbod, I shall be going to the same place but from London. I'm heading towards cancelling though at the moment - I figure we should stay home and enjoy the snow!

Meglet · 16/01/2013 21:00

The Met office only has north Hampshire with single snowflake icons (but all day), I want double snowflake icons .

mankyscotslass · 16/01/2013 21:01

Who wants to place bets as to whether eldest little Mankys football match at 0900 on Saturday morning on grass pitches goes ahead?

reastie · 16/01/2013 21:02

Marking place. This shall be my spot for official snow forecast checking Grin . I'm in Kent and finish work on Friday lunch time and live on a hill where snow is always loads heavier than surrounding area - please let me get home in one piece before it gets heavy Confused . I know I sound like an old woman well I am now my hair is greying but I'm thinking of putting wellies and winter gear in my car incase I have to take a long walk home on Friday!

TheregoesBod · 16/01/2013 21:08

Waves at Daftmaul. Yes, that's probably the best decision but the kids (and me ) are really looking forward to it, so I really don't want to cancel.

snowflakehellokitty · 16/01/2013 21:18

yes have to definetly come on fri afternoon and say how many inches we have
i really want snow on the one hand - on the other
on the other dhs parents r due to come down from hull fri morning for dds 4 bday so dont know if they will be able to get down if there is lots of snow

ArkadyRose · 16/01/2013 21:26

Placemarking. I like to check in on these threads to see how my own predictions tally up with OhYouBadBadKitten's. Smile DD3 is very excited because I told her on Monday even when the snow had melted that she'd have more to play in this weekend.

TameGaloot · 16/01/2013 21:28

Blizzard like again here. Hasn't stopped all afternoon
North norfolk
Kids missing another day ofnschool doesn't bother me, dh being forced to take holiday does

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2013 21:34

Just lost part of my post as i navigated away onto a different tab so I'll have to do one request at a time and mn gone super slow . Grrr.

Back earlier than expected :) Tom Daley, looks like heavyish snow from the outset. So my suspicion is that they will cancel it.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 16/01/2013 21:35

No volunteers from Bristol to report back for me on Friday night?

I'll be gutted if we can't fly out in Saturday morning Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2013 21:39

Hell looks at the moment like Friday am will be ok, maybe some flurries before more persistent snow moves in later. Saturday I think there will be reasonable accumulation and that will continue through Saturday before petering out Sunday.

OP posts:
hopenglory · 16/01/2013 21:40

Well it's all beyond me, however there are big warning signs on the M5 just outside Exeter tonight warning about severe weather on Friday

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2013 21:42

Getting hacked off with slowness of mn and losing another post.
