Snow Watch Part 2. Return of the Excitement!!!

Apologies to those in Norfolk who may well not be excited any more!!!!
This a continuation of This thread and is for model watching, forecasting and general excitement

Off to look at the models (and get dd up) back in a few minutes with latest thoughts!

No snow here in Lincoln.

No snow yet here in Harrogate either. I just checked metcheck and apparently it is snowing here right now, you'd have thought they'd at least get the current weather right. BBC says it could be here around 3pm, but they've got it wrong for the past week too so I'm just going to wait and see.

It's official. It's snowing in Newcastle upon Tyne. Yippee

Coming down steadily and settling here in E17; it was starting to swirl meaningfully as I was dropping DD3 off at school. I bet the assistant head that the playground would be white by 10am and it looks like I won my bet! We were weather-geeking a bit as she has a geography degree. She said school may shut early if it looks likely to get bad, to avoid staff being stranded - I'm expecting to get a call or text about midday.

I have big, proper snowflakes and lots of them! Yay snowy Birmingham!

Its really coming down in SE London and settling and slippery. Now DH and DD are over the side of London and both think they wont need to come home early, Im fed up of telling them, so looks as though theyll both be walking home tonight.

I think we might end up having more than they said, have my ruler....

Still nothing here, but if it's in SE London it can't be far away.

Dreams - real proper big snow in South London? I'm just beyond Greenwich and it's pathetic atm!!

Chester - been snowing for over 4 hours.
Wind really whipping it up as well. No sign of stopping.
Am sitting tight and working from home!

Dreams we're just getting the leading edges over us right now - I think things are going to get REALLY interesting when the main part of the snow band arrives over us at midday. (also standing by with the ruler)

we have a total Isle of Wight - out !!

Tiny little snowflakes falling quickly here in Hertford. It is settling on the gardens but not the roads or pavements yet. I'm supposed to be going to Brighton today for the weekend - not sure how likely that's going to happen now

Lots here in Lancashire/ Greater Manchester, yey brilliant. It doesn't seem to be stopping.

Lots of snow here in Shropshire-good cover and still falling heavily many schools closed or closing but roads passable.

Morethanpotatoprints, where are you in Lancs/Greater Manchester (if you don't mind saying)? No proper snow today here in the hills above Oldham (yet).

helenagrace snap! Schools starting to close in Worthing, only high schools so far.

Snow in Watford. Schools closed in Rickmansworth etc. The main road outside my office looks okay, but it's settled on the path. The phones in the office are very very quiet.

Feeling very smug here. DC's schools have just closed and are requesting that children are collected ASAP. Less than two hours they've been open!

Glad we called our own snow day earlier!

Loads of snow in Dorset, even Poole! Tricky getting boys to school and me to work, work closing at lunch time to will pick up boys on way home. Hopefully without incident!

crikeybill Worst of the snow has yet to hit London - give it another couple of hours and you should see a dramatic increase I reckon.
