Snow here in neath, west Glamorgan! Happy days. :)

Been out for a quick walk with youngest DS, enjoyed until a silly boy threw a snowball at my face, right at my eyes! I was not happy, back in for hot choc then off to have fun again.

redwellybluewelly · 18/01/2013 09:32

Snowing lightly but firmly for about 25min now north of norwich

Dawndonna · 18/01/2013 09:33

Still snowing here on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders.

Vagn love the name! Hope you've got the jumper to match, particularly in this weather! Grin

duchesse · 18/01/2013 09:34

East Devon. Garden looks dusty. V slushy and melting as it falls. Grrrr

StarlightMcKenzie · 18/01/2013 09:35

Ds just been sent home from school - Wimbledon! Confused

Consils · 18/01/2013 09:35

snowing heavily here so the builders can't mend the roof.

MaggieMcVitie · 18/01/2013 09:37

West Wales - blizzard!! Sledges at the ready - and DS1 has just gone up the hill to our old neighbours (elderly and widowed) to see if they need anything, all his own idea. [Proud Mum emoticon]

MrsHerculePoirot · 18/01/2013 09:39

starlight you must be very close to me! I am raynes park v near the waitrose! Dd supposed to have nursery this avo, not sure whether to go!

DialsMavis · 18/01/2013 09:41

DS's school have texted to say that after school clubs are cancelled but that's it. His school is only 10mins walk from bus routes though, and as in London, most of the students live in the surrounding roads or certainly within walking distance. We are 2.5 miles away, so I will burn plenty of calories collecting him and can replace most of my body's water content with hot chocolate when I have completed the round trip! Wink

shepherdsdelight · 18/01/2013 09:42

surrey/hants border here and it started about 2 hours ago.

Not fun for me as it means shovelling/gritting our access road to keep business open. Staff always seem to find ways to get in but suppliers (even the really local ones) are not so keen/resourceful.

pigsinmud · 18/01/2013 09:43

Been snowing here in surrey hills for 90 mins. Everything covered. Still have small flakes. I want big ones....getting demanding now!

Bitter, bitter wind from the east when I walked the dog over the fields.

CuthbertDibble · 18/01/2013 09:43

Just started snowing here, Herts/Beds border, very small flakes but lots of them and it's settling Grin

2plus2 · 18/01/2013 09:47

Still snowing here in north Somerset about 4 inches so far, mine and the kids schools closed so we are all very happy Grin

Mirage · 18/01/2013 09:48

Light snow in Leicestershire, and the wind is so strong and icy that I couldn't catch my breath walking across the fields just now.Apparently we had an earthquake last night but I didn't notice.

duchesse · 18/01/2013 09:49

Raining now... :(

oldsilver · 18/01/2013 09:52

Yeeehaw - we hardly ever get snow and now have about four inches and it's still going strong this side of Bristol. We overlook the railway line and haven't seen any trains coming from or going to WsM. DP has had to walk to work and no one has attempted to drive into or out of our street. School was cancelled early this morning - I wish I'd bought that sledge Asdals had on offer but DP laughed at me.

Willdoitinaminute · 18/01/2013 09:53

We have had heavy snow since 6 am (south Midlands) all the schools have closed panic buying set in yesterday and the world as we know it will end over the weekend.
Our only problem is my MIL who had major surgery yesterday in hospital 20 miles away and we will have to try to get there with FIL because we don't want him driving himself.
Thank goodness for 4x4!!!!!

Saltire · 18/01/2013 09:54

Does anyone know if its due to snow in North Yorks, Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway tonight and tomorrow?

GloriaSnow · 18/01/2013 09:55

Tiny snow flakes falling here in Leicester, with a bitter east wind. Have managed to get DDs to their schools 4 and 6 miles away, but will be counting the hours down 'til I have to do the journey again. Luckily DD1 finishes early on a Friday.

Mirage ~ didn't feel that earthquake here either. I was awake though between 3.30 and 5.00am, so just missed it!

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2013 09:55

Coming down heavily in Worcestershire. May get out of bed soon, and prepare the sledges. Grin

adverse you had an earthquake! 2.9 on the richter scale, apparently.....

nannynick · 18/01/2013 10:01

Been snowing in West Surrey for past 1.5 hours. Steady snowfall, should be enough for snowman building by lunchtime.
Wonder when the schools will text to say they are closed.

Beautiful sunny day in Glasgow. Getting hacked off now as have had our sledges at the ready for "the big snow coming on Friday". Doesn't look like we are going to get any but will report with glee when/if we do. Going to wrap up warm and go for a brisk walk Smile
