Snow Watch Part 2. Return of the Excitement!!!

This a continuation of This thread and is for model watching, forecasting and general excitement

Off to look at the models (and get dd up) back in a few minutes with latest thoughts!

Only a few snow flakes at the West coast of Scotland (northern Argyll) at the moment but it's very very windy.

Very, very light snow has just started her in SW London!

The good stuff should be later today for most people.

Coming down thick and fast here. Pulled down the curtain with all the excitement ha ha! Can lie in bed and watch it now.

Lots of snow here in Bristol now. dds school is closed and council website has crashed due to overuse. No bus services running!

As this was the latest word from OYBBK "manky, how is it doing that?? it goes to the south of you and then to the east and north of you! dont give up yet though, both GFS and UKMO show you getting some. "

madbuslady it is deffo on its way up to you from S London - heavier already but very fine and still settling easily!!!!

Fine snow all night in Birmingham, starting to pick up a little now. Most Solihull schools are in and all teacher friends are sulking ( I don't work Fridays yeh!) I'm hoping it will snow so much I can't go and have a filling at midday

And the snow is just starting in SE London

I can report that snow has finally reached Mid-Sussex. It started about 5 minutes ago and is very fine so it will take a while for the ground to get covered! DH's school half an hour away near Shoreham is closed (despite the fact that there was NO SNOW ANYWHERE at the time of the phone call)

Thanks spotty so worried about DD driving to work- she had a very bad accident last year in ice. I hate blinking snow :(

No snow in South Herts. But sky looks omninous. Just frozen snow on grass remaining despite sunny days we've had.

About 4cm here in North Wiltshire and still falling. Pretty much all the schools closed.

Trains update from Birmingham New Street station. All trains in and out are running at the moment. There are some delays but nothing more than 30 mins ( most are less than 10). Stay safe out there!
