OK, thank you! :)
It's coming down much faster here in Chichester now. I'm seriously worried we'd get stuck up there and I think you're right that we'd have to stay up there. Think we might stay put!

OneWaySystemBlues · 18/01/2013 07:53

I'm in North Leicestershire - is there any snow coming our way? All my weather apps said yes, at 3.00 am last night - just a sprinkling this morning, nothing significant. Will we get some more?

Dededum · 18/01/2013 07:56

No snow in Guildford, waiting for schools to advise.

PestoFrostissimos · 18/01/2013 07:56

The sky's looking ominous here (outskirts of Brighton) but DH has just driven DD down to school for her history GCSE this morning

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2013 07:57

I'm so sorry, I have to go to work now :( will be back mid/late afternoon. Perhaps others will be able to help those with questions?
Have a good day all and dont let the thread die (and please start a snow watch part 3 if we need it! theres a lot more to come over the next few days)

manky same here not far from you in SE Cheshire. All week we've been expecting a blizzard. Last night there was a dusting, but that's all. It's just been enough flakes to have settled and frozen overnight and make it treacherous underfoot and on the roads. But I can't even say it's a cm deep, literally only a dusting. Forecast for today gibves us no snow at all.

bigTillyMint · 18/01/2013 08:00

No snow in SE London yet, but DC are praying!

redwellybluewelly · 18/01/2013 08:02

Weve certainly had more just north of Norwich but at the moment very much in two minds about whether or not to brave the trip to work. Roads are moving fine but somewhat more concerned about getting home after work!

PEPPER I have a two year opd so no chanve of work at all. Done one full day this week and I work supposedly full tome. Sigh.

gymboywalton · 18/01/2013 08:03

another person in cheshire here looking out of the window at the miserable dusting and thinking 'it's not FAIR!!'

met office forecast is now showing no prediciton for snow in the manchester area over the next 2 days.

how have we gone from blizzard forecast to nothing??

DamnDeDoubtance · 18/01/2013 08:04

I hope it doesn`t run out by the time it gets to Kent.

Looks like we are getting some on Sunday though.

I cannot take the excitement anymore. [wail]

I am like a woman possessed and we have had 1cm so far all winter.

TobyLerone · 18/01/2013 08:08

OYBBK, you are a legend and so patient with all of us nagging you!

Have a good day, and be careful.

No snow in my bit of Kent yet.

SocietyClowns · 18/01/2013 08:16

Snowing heavily here since early this morning and settling (South East Wales)Grin. Cross that I don't work on Fridays, so can't take a snow day Envy.
Can we have a snow emoticon please?

TwllBach · 18/01/2013 08:17

There are tiny little flecks of snow now... I'm hoping it will a) stick and b) come hard enough for everyone to go home in about an hour and a half.

pigleychez · 18/01/2013 08:18

Where in West Sussex tea cakes? Nr Gatwick here and nothing :-(

LIZS · 18/01/2013 08:19

Just started to snow lightly and fine here (Surrey) but it is settling.

Madmog · 18/01/2013 08:21

Snowing here hard in Gloucestershire. At 7am had been just a sprinkling on the ground overnight and my daughter's comprehensive school had taken the decision before then to close which at the time seemed pathetic. The local primary schools are open however, which means I have to go to work later as I work at one! What fun.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2013 08:22

I'm on the Sussex/Surrey border between midhurst and Haslemere Smile it's on its way don't think it's reached billingshurst yet though seems slow moving...

LottieJenkins · 18/01/2013 08:23

Norfolk/Suffolk borders again her.............I swept and salted the path here at 10 last night before bed and it is covered again now...................The school where i work is open so i will be spending an hour in the playground/field freezing again!!!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/01/2013 08:24

Anyone waiting for text via teachers2parents system, DS's school hadn't been able to log onto the website to get text sent. A friend rang to see situation, text literally just this minute come through.

droitwichmummy · 18/01/2013 08:24

Sitting on the train looking at the snow . No travel problems yet. For other travellers it's the Hereford to Birmingham service. Will post from Birmingham New Street when I get there.

mankyscotslass · 18/01/2013 08:25

Aw, my DC are so disappointed. Sad

EasyFromNowOn · 18/01/2013 08:26

North Staffs - it just started coming down hard. Snowed lightly most of the night but in the last 10 minutes it has really kicked up a gear.

School is closed and DH will be walking to work, because not even my fab little car will make it off our estate in this!

Dawndonna · 18/01/2013 08:27

Ds works near you Lottie, it's taking him an hour and a half to do a half hour journey at the moment. Not even sure he'll get there today. It's not like he uses the little road, he comes in on the A143!

ArkadyRose · 18/01/2013 08:28

First snow falling in E17 - very fine powdery stuff from the leading edge. Settling but very fine.

Missbopeep · 18/01/2013 08:29

Nothing in the home counties yet and less frost than yesterday.

Anything in Bristol and Seven Beach? Got a DD who has to drive to work soon.
