Devon OYBK, but there are blizzards and snow ploughs in action 2 miles away

No snow in west Kent yet. Dd1 upset cos she so wants it to snow, seem to be in line for a few cm during the day, might be able to sledge home. Their school is rehearsing for next ice age, they are like the kwiki mart, they never shut. Dh already muttering about whether I'll get to work tomorrow.

Snowing here in Stroud - sorry to all you who are still waiting. Forecast heavy all morning, lighter later on.
Schools shut but poor DS(17) has to trudge in this after for an A-level.

no word from dds school im concerned. No problem in getting there but I can pretty much guarantee shes going to struggle to get home. I only hope they call the buses in early.

OYBBK any idea on whether I should go to London today as I posted a 7.13? Am stood here at the door wondering whether to get the car out! :)

The few cms we got last night are still here, but that's it. Both DC's schools are open. They are unimpressed.

I'd be really wary about being able to get back to Woking and then the drive back. If it were just to the globe I'd book a night in a hotel, go to the globe and enjoy it.

Disrupted train service here in Farnham/Guildford/Camberley so it would take DD a couple of hours to get to school. But it's peak hours only so she couldn't get home when school will surely close at lunchtime. So not going in anticipation of what's coming later.

beckandcall, is that the SWtrains 'we are changing the service before we get snow' issue? Very sensible choice!

Kitten, we're in Rutland, we still have snow from Monday. It is snowing lightly now, DH has gone to work to rural Lincolnshire and not due home until 6ish. Will he get here, or should he make plans to come earlier?

precip cloud on willitraintoday looks like it is very very close to us but no snow coming down yet, although we did have a light dusting overnight.

Nothing in Woking and the BBC forecast which last night had forecast light snow from 8am and heavy snow from 11am today has now downgraded to light snow from 9am and no heavy snow at all

Both schools for the dc are open and so is the one I work in. So hey ho hey ho, off to work and school we go.
