Not been able to sort a car, so he's getting to Manchester and getting a hotel room there tonight.

Going to have a gutted DD1 on my hands in the morning :(

And a tense wait to see what the weather does. Hopefully he'll get a train ok Confused

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 20:49

Just checked the council website. there are 2 school closures for tomorrow already and nothing's happened yet. Grin

pigleychez · 17/01/2013 20:50

Ohh just seen on Met office we've been upgraded from light to Heavy snow for most of tomorrow! - Eeek!

Plus now snow showers on Sunday and Monday too! That means we could have snow for the next 4+ days!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 20:51

Sitting I don't fancy that concoction for breakfast Hmm

Hello West Sussexers I'm near Midhurst/Petworth area Grin lots of us on here!

zippy539 · 17/01/2013 20:53

Thanks so much for this badKitten - I love your weather reports. I'm freaking out a bit because I've been away working for a week and am desperate to get home tomorrow. Obviously you can't predict public transport but do you think I'll make it home tomorrow? I'm going Edinburgh to Glasgow early morning then Glasgow to Bristol (flying) about 3pm then Bristol to rural Wiltshire about fiveish (by road). Any thoughts?

mankyscotslass · 17/01/2013 20:53

Still really light, too light to class as proper snow, in my book anyway.

MegGriffin · 17/01/2013 20:53

Waves as pigley I'm near Gatwick also.

zippy539 · 17/01/2013 20:54

nightmare about the crumpets by the way :)

WeAreSix · 17/01/2013 20:54

I'm in Worthing. Probably the plainest part of W Sx!

letseatgrandma · 17/01/2013 20:57

OYBBK-what say you to snow in SE Essex-I have a horrible feeling we'll miss it all again!! :(

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 17/01/2013 20:57

Sold out of crumpets - that's a disgrace! You could ask DD to make some - I loved doing that when I was young I can barely be bothered to toast them these days!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2013 21:00

I'm not quite so sure about timings now, but they still roughly follow my last post about timings posted at 15:20, it is getting a bit muddled with this evenings snow being heavier than expected and the earlier arrival of the snow tomorrow.

Basically tomorrow if you are in England or Wales and away from the SW (where it may be rain) or the far NW of England where it may stay dry then at some point tomorrow you will almost certainly get snow by the early evening. Towards tomorrow evening along the south coast it may turn to rain for a bit. Further north around yorkshire and above it is going to take its time to get to you, maybe not until the evening.

Looks set to reach central england by around morning rush hour and London and East Anglia by lunchtime.

I think that probably pretty much covers everyones 'will it snow?' questions. :)

I keep looking and my snow is being predicted later and later! I think I'm in the only part of the country where it's not going to snow Grin

zippy539 · 17/01/2013 21:05

Thanks OYBBK - from that I've decided I'm going to get home. :)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2013 21:06

zippy, I think youll have no trouble getting to Glasgow. Bristol is rather in the firing line though. Not a fun drive at all either.

If you are on fb its worth checking out your County Constabulary page (or their webpage) where they may well be saying stay off the roads tomorrow. Ours is.

Cheers Kitten, your ace. Smile

SueFawley · 17/01/2013 21:07

The forecast for my area - south east Cheshire - has changed about 10 times during the course of today. It's snowing lightly now and has been since 5pm, but the forecast for tomorrow no shows absolutely no snow for us at all. Which seems odd. And I'm feeling rather excluded Grin

Molepom · 17/01/2013 21:08

2cm on my back door step. South Yorks.

WeAreSix · 17/01/2013 21:12

joyful you are just down the road from me :)

zippy539 · 17/01/2013 21:13

Thanks Kitten - I realise I'm being a bit optimistic! It's the Bristol to Wiltshire leg I'm worried about cos the only way to get home is by cab and I live in a village at the top of a big big hill. Sods law I'll manage to get to Bristol then be stranded 15 miles from home. Thanks for the constabulary advice - I've not been in England long so don't know the routine. Much appreciated.
