Apologies to those in Norfolk who may well not be excited any more!!!!

OYSSK - thank you! Grin

Badger - being gridlocked with an angry 2 year old sounds terrible! If you do go - don't forget to take emergency paracetamol ( for you not ds!)

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 17/01/2013 16:05

nutcracker, you are certainly in the firing line.

Have to say, I'm just a bit concerned for you more northern people though in that the decent snow risk does seemed to have progressively moved further south over the past couple of days at least to start with. Try not to worry too much that you'll miss out altogether as later on in the day it will be further north.

DeafLeopard · 17/01/2013 16:08

Snowing in Northants, wasn't expected until lunchtime tomorrow according to BBC

SilverAndSparklyKat · 17/01/2013 16:09

Is the snow that is falling on me in Birmingham that funny little extra wobbly line OYSSK? THe one that you said might merit an extra amber?

educatingarti · 17/01/2013 16:09

OYSSK! Oh no! Northern as in Manchester or northern as in Scottish Highlands?

GerardWay · 17/01/2013 16:10

Any chance of snow in Bournemouth? The IOW causes us lots of problems regarding snow. Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 16:13

Snowing in Sussex and in Hindhead according to dp

SilverAndSparklyKat · 17/01/2013 16:15

Why does Accuweather think it will al be a bit of a letdown compared to everybody else? And please could I have the red bit in Birmingham? Thank you.

educatingarti · 17/01/2013 16:20

Can anyone "down south" please start blowing hard in a Northerly direction in order to deflect red bit nearer me!

Thank you

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 17/01/2013 16:22

deafleopard, this is just snow showers - an extra bonus! When its light its a bit like forecasting drizzle.
educatingarti - as in north Yorkshire up.

sparklykat, the extra amber is already being shown - it got a lot bigger than it was :)

Gerardway, for a time at least hopefully, but could turn to rain.

sparklyKat - which bit of accuweather?

SilverAndSparklyKat · 17/01/2013 16:23

Accuweather says " cm or two of snow, mixed with rain at times, Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon" for Birmingham.
I want a bit more that that!

GerardWay · 17/01/2013 16:26

Thankyou OYBBK. I was hoping for a large dumping of though.

Babybeargrylls · 17/01/2013 16:28

i love the Met Office WOW site, you can add the weather where you are very quickly and see the snow spreading across the country!

GerardWay · 17/01/2013 16:29

Of snow. Stupid playbook. ponders if it's worth moving north

Heffalumpa · 17/01/2013 16:30

ARRGH! I hate this bit of snow.

Will it snow? What time will it start? Will it settle? How much will we get?!!?!

So many questions!!!!

I asked DD1 whether it will snow in Milton Keynes and she told me "Yes, we shall get hundreds and thousands and hundreds of snow!" - I do hope she's right!

mummylin2495 · 17/01/2013 16:30

GerardWay I too am in the same town and have everything crossed !!

GerardWay · 17/01/2013 16:32

Waves to mummylin.

ArkadyRose · 17/01/2013 16:33

Pseudo, it's supposed to hit us in London about midday (though I have a feeling it might reach us a little earlier - just a hunch though). It usually takes an hour or two for London to get really gridlocked when it snows though - the leading edge will be fairly light, and the moving traffic will help keep most of it from settling. I really wouldn't want to be driving in it by 3-4pm though - school runs are going to be unpleasant I suspect. DD3's school is discussing closing early as some staff have quite a way to travel home, so I'm keeping one eye on the radar and another on the school website!

SouthWest Trains have announced special timetables for tomorrow already, as have a few other train operators.

GerardWay · 17/01/2013 16:34

I want to spend the day at Queens Park watching all the weird and wonderful things the teenagers steal use as sledges. Grin

mumat39 · 17/01/2013 16:35

I'm a bit slow on the uptake.

I've just realised OYBBK is now OYSSK, Blush

starsandunicorns · 17/01/2013 16:37

Am hoping the snow doesnt stop my dd traveling tommorrow on the train. Can someone tell me if snow is in north lincs dd is traveling from there to the north west after school on friday. She had a terbbile journey last month with the floods sigh

DamnDeDoubtance · 17/01/2013 16:38

Me too! Doh!

JammySplodger · 17/01/2013 16:38

Sheffield's been downgraded to a Yellow warning, I hope we still get enough for a good bit of sledging.

PseudoBadger · 17/01/2013 16:41

Thanks all, I'll think carefully about whether to go out tomorrow then!

mankyscotslass · 17/01/2013 16:43

Still nothing here!

It's going to be a wash out like Sunday/Monday. Isn't it?
