Bah humbug

OP posts:
Bunnygotwhacked · 12/10/2012 16:04

I'm hoping it snows heavily over christmas so we are all stuck in eating lovely christmas food and dp won't have to work christmas day. It won't but hey i can hope

Sparklingbrook · 12/10/2012 16:06

Can it either be six foot deep or nothing? I don't want to do the 'is the school open?' thing. Ta.

VerySmallSqueak · 12/10/2012 16:07

Having moaned constantly about the snow over the last few years,I am going to try my best to embrace it this year.

I am planning snow animals rather than a big ol' boring snowman.

And a night sledging session with the kids.

Can't stop it happening so I'm going to turn my frown upside down Grin

SingingSands · 12/10/2012 16:08

It had better not snow. I've just bought a BMW 1 series - they're atrocious in snow and ice!

I reckon it will be very cold, but dry. DRY I tell thee!

Meglet · 12/10/2012 16:08

I think it's going to be another cold one. The temp seems to have dropped really fast this month.

LittleBairn · 12/10/2012 16:09

I love winter and snow but not this year please! I'm like bambi on ice in bad weather probably not good if pregnant.
Oh and I need to buy a pair of grippy snow boots and probably a larger winter coat.
Plus I now commute to work on the train this will be a nightmare in snowy conditions it's bad enough when it rains.

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:10

Suga

They are shocking !

I seem to have developed a 'thing' for certain pairs of Merrells. I've bought 1 pair so far, at a 3rd of the price, which is good, but I keep seeing other pairs and I NEED THEM ALL !

Last year it was Skechers, the Grand Slam ones. I bought 4 pairs last year, some of which bless them have only been worn once and lived inside the wardrobe ever since. I do need a black pair of those, then I think I have a pair in every colour.

I do love my NF though. Sitting here my feet are freezing, even with my huge animal slippers on. All fluff and no foomfh ! I might have to put my NF on. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/10/2012 16:11

Yes Singing Cold and dry would be perfect.

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:12

OOh, also just reminded me. The DCs knackered their sledges last year, maybe new ones can go on the Christmas list ?

Unless we get any beforehand, then it's plastic jobbies from the toy shop.

Pascha · 12/10/2012 16:12

Oh bugger off SPB Shock Fourteen month pregnancy? I think bloody not! Although i like the idea of contracting in front of the woodburner Smile

SugariceAndScary · 12/10/2012 16:14

Grin I wouldn't wear them Mrs V, leopard's not my thing really but Snow Joggers are supposed to be really warm!

I need decent winter boots, I'll look at the NF and Merrells!

DeWe · 12/10/2012 16:15

I hope so Grin

Ds starts asking when it will snow from end of August onwards.

BrainSurgeon · 12/10/2012 16:16

We will have some lovely snow for X-mas, couple of days of standstill with beautiful white snow everywhere, then it will melt quickly and we will have lovely mild temperatures and blue sky all round.
Gavel.

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:17

Don't give me any more ideas about potentially good, warm winter boots. Grin Wink

I got some Merrell Prevoz in black, they are beautiful, and maybe too good for snow ? Grin

I am currently looking at the Oslo's, but also like the Taiga's. But there's lots to choose from, so I find it's easier just to get pair after pair, so you have one of each. Grin

BrainSurgeon · 12/10/2012 16:18

Oh DeWe mine too - he asks every single bloody day "is it Christmas yet" and sings Jingle bells and We whish you a Merry Christmas on the way to school. Every. morning.
Grrrrrrr!

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:18

The only trouble is, is when I remember they do different styles in different colours. Grin

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:20

I have a cockatiel that whistles Jingle Bells.

Sounded daft in August so I taught him "Whistle While You Work".

Which would be fine, but he seems to enjoy doing a mash up of the two !

VerySmallSqueak · 12/10/2012 16:20

MrsVamo don't wait till Christmas for the sledges - it'll be too late by then judging by the last couple of years.

Sparklingbrook · 12/10/2012 16:22

Sledge purchases to be made now to avoid disappointment. Or prevent it snowing. Grin

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:23

I have just thought of that, Squeak. Smile

I might have to get on ebay and see if I can find some. I know my local toy shop wont have any in yet.

The trouble is, I can never settle for just a 'sledge'. When I see all the other new-fangled ones, I can get a bit carried away. (see posts about boots !) Blush

VerySmallSqueak · 12/10/2012 16:24

See I'll be very put out if it doesn't snow this year tbh.
Last year I bought the kids snow boots in the next size up in the end of season sale.
It'd better bloody snow

(Sorry Singing )

Absy · 12/10/2012 16:24

I want it to snow heavily like it did in Feb 2009 (so all transport in London down, snow days off work etc. etc.) except THIS TIME I will not be in a coach trying to get back to sodding Stansted Airport having had a flight redirected to Bristol and spending the night in Bristol sodding International Airport, finally arriving home 12 sodding hours later than I was supposed to.

Oh no. This time, I will be in bed, in nice PJs, watching movies, drinking hot chocolate and not going anywhere near the outside world, apart from a quick trip to the park to throw snow balls at geese

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:24

The sledges may have to wait. There is a couple of pairs of Merrells I have my eyes on. Grin

I'm so naughty.

MrsVamoOOOOOs · 12/10/2012 16:26

Ah ha ! Squeak I have been sensible on that front.

I am going to get my DCs snow boots in about a months time.

Surely it won't snow before the end of November, will it ?

You're all making me panic now.

What first ?

(More) Boots for me, sledges, and DCs boots ?

Argh. It's too much.

VerySmallSqueak · 12/10/2012 16:27

Get the kids interested in making their own customised sledges as an Autumn project.
That way you can have your Merrells, Mrs and everyone's a winner.
