PartridgeinaRustyBearTree · 17/12/2010 13:11

We have graupel in Wokingham!

lostinwales · 17/12/2010 13:20

On that met office map for Saturday, at the bottom of Wales there's a yellow bit sticking out. That would be us then Angry!

DS1 is ASD and just cannot understand that when the weather person on television says it will snow at 4pm that it's a possibility not a promise, so he is watching all the forecasts and then constantly asking the time and counting down, for the last three weeks, bless him Sad. Not that I would change him for the world, he was Joseff in the school nativity last night and still waved madly at me when he saw me in the audience (he's nearly 11!)

rosieposey · 17/12/2010 13:26

Well apart from that 20 min downpour of heavy snow last night there is nothing happening here in N Wilts, i dont know why we are missing it when everyone else is getting a dousing :( Rubbish!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 17/12/2010 13:33

No snow and not even any ice here in Angus. It hasnt rained/snowed so there isnt anything to freeze! Think we are lucky. Bitterly cold though - I think it feels even colder than the terrible temps we had a couple of weeks ago.

laughalot · 17/12/2010 13:34

Iv just watched the bbc weather forcast and they really dont have a clue where the snow is going to be they even admitted to not take it as gospel.

moid · 17/12/2010 13:42

Snow in Guildford, weird hail like snow at the top of our hill and it is freezing here Grin

RosieSippingGinWithSanta · 17/12/2010 13:43

Snowed in Herts, just taken an hour to go half a mile from the supermarket to home, cars abandoned, roads not gritted Xmas Angryand most at a standstill.

midnightexpress · 17/12/2010 13:45

Oh gosh rosie, whereabouts in Herts? My mum just phoned me from a shop somewhere in Herts and I am now worried she'll be stranded.

WilfShelf · 17/12/2010 13:46

haha at the MetOffice 'we have no farking idea' reports...

They say heavy snow right now for the W Midlands. And out of my window I see clear blue sky and sunshine!

RosieSippingGinWithSanta · 17/12/2010 13:46

Midnightexpress- Hemel, hope your mum is ok, all main roads in and out on a complete go slow.

NoahAndTheWhale · 17/12/2010 13:49

Nothing in York.

Still bloomin' freezing though

midnightexpress · 17/12/2010 13:55

Thanks Rosie - she's prob in StA or WGC so maybe OK. Eek. Hope you get cleared up soon. Bimmin snow.

takingchances · 17/12/2010 15:17

Have just returned from Leatherhead where the snow BELTED down at around 1 o'clock but main roads are clear.
South West London has surprisingly got the same amount of snow lying on the ground. Usually Surrey gets it much worse but must have been fairly heavy here too... footpaths v slippy. Tomorrow morning will be "fun" if all this ices over tonight.

goingroundthebend4 · 17/12/2010 15:18

Hmm ds school is in Stevenage hope it's not to bad there want him home and their taxi route is along country lanes :(

goingroundthebend4 · 17/12/2010 15:20

Midnight have you heard from your mum what's it like over their ds is only 5 and on good day it takes a hour to get home

noddyholder · 17/12/2010 15:25

Really snowing here in brighton now!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 17/12/2010 15:48

My graupel has frozen on top of the snow, meaning I can go out and gloat over it when I feel like it

mankyscotslass · 17/12/2010 15:58

Gorgeous sunny day here, just got a bit duller and the sun is setting now.

Very cold though!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 17/12/2010 16:02

where are you manky?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 17/12/2010 16:11

Are you in mid-Devon Sue? How come you get all the snow?

mankyscotslass · 17/12/2010 16:14

I'm in Greater Manchester, but hail from Renfrewshire, Howtolookgoodglaikit! Love the name btw, it just about describes me this morning!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 17/12/2010 16:32

I am south of Torrington and north of Oke so Mid to North really! We've had a good few new showers but they haven't added much to what's on the ground.

My village often seems to get weird weather, we have lots of snow a couple of weeks ago too.

ledodgy · 17/12/2010 17:53

OOh we have flash warnings for heavy snow now overnight....

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 17/12/2010 18:13
