I have to get to a very important appointment and will have a new baby and preschooler in the car.

We have a dusting of snow but enough to make the estate very difficult to get out of.

Interesting tomorrow, less snow risk for many showing on the latest GFS - shows some escaping it all together. UKMO too - though where gets hit is different in each case.
Would be almost easier if we did all have proper snow then travelling/not travelling would be easy to decide.

5 miles in any direction from here all the schools are closed, we have about 0.5cm of snow, disappointed children, and lunch boxes still to pack, bum. I think out of all the schools in our area only DH's and the boys are open.

OMG. Just did school run and got dumped on by what I think must be GRAUPEL! SEems to have stopped now though...

nothing on the I.O.W, snowed for about 10 minutes at 19:00 and then again at 22:00. Very icy this morning.

DH managed to drive from Scotland to home in 7 hours last night .

We're still under an orange weather warning for tomorrow though. Gah.

frosty, cloudy, a bit of snow dust in the air otherwise nothing.
It is nowhere near as dark as it was yesterday though.

Twiitmaaaas you got there before me! And in answer to your question about how long I'm here- I don't mind getting stuck inherefordshire as I'm not planning on leaving till30th. Would be nice for kids to get some proper snow- down south we had very little last year even when everyone else had some.
I can even see blue sky in Hereford right now- Tis cold tho.

Can I join the Graupel Gang too? It would make up for the fact that it's the only thing left on the ground here after all the beautiful feathery snowflakes of last night melted.

About a centimetre of snow here in North Devon, but it will melt rapidly as it is not very cold atm. Looks like we are in line for more overnight though.

How are we pronouncing 'graupel' may I check?

Snow has eased here, although I reckon we may get a wee bit more before the day is much older.

OYBBK, going slightly off-topic here, but is there any truth in that thing that people say sometimes: 'it's too cold to snow'? I'm thinking that it must be rubbish (for evidence, see Canada, Siberia), but someone said it to me yesterday and it struck me. Is it just that warm bit before the cold bit thing that you were talking about yesterday?

It's snowing very heavily here in N oxon. Has been for about 20 mins and still looking very dark. It just shows that the best way to predict the weather is to look out of the window, as we were forecast a sunny day I think
