Morning all.
Still very significant amounts of snow showing on the radar for the NE and parts of northern England and heavy showers up into the east side of Scotland. Light snow in some of the SE.

I hear on the radio Gatwick airport is closed.

off to look at the models :)

I think of it as a bit of both, it's a London Borough but my postal address is Kent. Depends on who I'm telling! My cousin in Kent says where I live is not proper Kent but he's an arse, what does he know? LOL

MaureenMLove · 01/12/2010 21:58

It is not snowing in the London Borough of Bexley, Kent.Grin Not bloody snowing! What's going on! I want more snow!

I have an igloo though! DD and the neighbours made one this afternoon. It's very impressive!

MaureenMLove · 01/12/2010 22:00

And interestingly well maybe not Kbear and I live ohh, 75 yards from eachother, in Bexley, Kent. I live in one district and she lives in another! Grin

Not interesting at all really.

I'll get me coat.

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 22:03

So, does Shirley live in this Bexley? Or another one? Because she has 7 foot of snow and cannabalistic inuits.

MaureenMLove · 01/12/2010 22:04

Shirley does live in Bexley, but not sure where. Because we have quite a lot of open space, it could be 7 foot. What is 7 foot in cms anyway? I have 18cms in the garden.

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 01/12/2010 22:06

How much snow is there in Bexley then? Am confused.

KBear - I hate that. I used to live in Harrow, which apparently isn't proper London and Middlesex isn't really a proper county. However, Kent is a proper county and is quite big. Riddikulus!

Some bloke on telly just said the word preparedness about the weather. Apart from being laughable in the context, is it an actual word?

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 01/12/2010 22:08

DD (4) was up to her waist in the snow. Cat almost disappeared. He's been a hoot - he's 9 months so his first snow. Xmas Grin

MaureenMLove · 01/12/2010 22:10

I think maybe Shirley was bigging it up just a tinsy bit. Wink Afterall, she also has a inuit in the front garden! Grin

I would say the average for this particular part of Bexley is somewhere between 18 - 25cm. Bad enough for most of the schools to shut and since I work in a school, that's enough for me! Grin

mankyscotslass · 01/12/2010 23:14

I survived.Grin

It was cold with frequent snow showers, but the roads were ok. In fact there was less snow lying than we have, when we are only a few miles from the ground. Even just down the road from us had half the snow we did!

mummylin2495 · 01/12/2010 23:32

Yes !!! we now have snow in Bournemouth, hope it keeps up all night Smile

Glitterknickaz · 02/12/2010 00:08

it's going bonkers in Horsham Grin

nikki1978 · 02/12/2010 00:17

Oh god does that mean it is going to be worse when I wake up tomorrow? (am in Croydon) any chance of a heatwave on it's way to melt the lot?

almost3 · 02/12/2010 00:17

It's pretty bad here in Yorkshire, honestly never seen this much snow in EVER!! Ds1's school has been closed all week and ds2's closed today, both are closed again tomorrow. Our hot water broke yesterday, plumber fixed it this morning and 2 hours later the heating broke!!!!

To top things off i'm 40+6 pregnant and all family are cut off in teeny vilages so if I go into labour there's no-one able to get here to look after the kids. Even if I could have a home birth (can't due to medical reasons) our PCT has cancelled the home birth facility and closed one maternity unit in our area.

Sorry, just needed to rant about that, usually I love snow (big big kid I am) but this once i'm really wishing it would bugger off!

Glitterknickaz · 02/12/2010 00:22

err.... Reality are you round here too?

TheSkiingGardener · 02/12/2010 03:40

Well we've finally got snow. We only had a sprinkling last year so I wondered if it would avoid us again, but no.

4" so far in Southampton

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 02/12/2010 07:07
