Morning all.
Still very significant amounts of snow showing on the radar for the NE and parts of northern England and heavy showers up into the east side of Scotland. Light snow in some of the SE.

I hear on the radio Gatwick airport is closed.

off to look at the models :)

Kitten, is Brighton going to get a whole bucket-load more? [hopeful emoticon]

winterpetunia · 01/12/2010 16:46

Picked up DD1 OK although snow was beginning to settle on the main roads. I'm sure I heard on Classic FM that if anything, it's going to be worse tomorrow ~ didn't catch wherabouts in the country though. How much worse can it get?

mankyscotslass · 01/12/2010 17:43

I am off out to a football match tonight. Shock

It's going to be a bit nippy. Grin

ShirleyKnot · 01/12/2010 18:07

DS2 put 2 paper cups of water outside at 2 O'Clock this afternoon. They're both frozen solid (There's a row now about the fact that there should have been a "control" and one should have been surrounded in snow and one should have been left on the deck with the snow cut away. FFS)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/12/2010 19:48

pesto it is pretty likely.

Good luck Manky!

Snowing again here in Bexley

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/12/2010 20:59

The SE snow looks very impressive! Persistent and heavy in places (especially around the Croydon area n Met office invent).
Big rash of snow from the Wash up too.

oybbk are we really in for yet more in the NE? It has been snowing for a week, please makeit stop!

headfairy · 01/12/2010 21:05

It's tipping down here in Surrey OYBK, very fine snow but absolutely tons of it. ds's footsteps in the garden from where we attempted to build our snowman today are already filling in!

We failed miserably at building our snowman because the snow is too damn dry and cold, powdery fluff, can't even make a snowball with the damn stuff!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/12/2010 21:07

sorry ducky :(

headfairy, we have very fine snow too. dd is so desperate for a day off tomorrow but I just don't know id we will get enough to close the school as we are on the edge of it. Our snow is pretty but pointless, useless for playing with but enough to make walking anywhere pretty dicey.

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 01/12/2010 21:15

Please tell me Somerset will get some snow? My DC are desperate to go sledging and are fed up of seeing so much snow everywhere else on TV!

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:19

I'm slightly north of birmingham in south derbyshire. I want yards of snow

WishItCouldBeShirleyEveryDay · 01/12/2010 21:25

CHICKENS!

I'm snowed in (is as much as I won't leave the house)

It's so very quiet and weird.

I feel weird

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:28

How much snow, Shirley? We have a, farnkly pathetic, four inches. I want snow armageddon!!!

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:28

What's farnkly? I mean frankly. Obviously.

WishItCouldBeShirleyEveryDay · 01/12/2010 21:34

The snow?

You wanna know about the SNOW?

7 foot.

I dug a tunnel out to my car and found an igloo full of stinking asylum seeking scrounger eskimos.

I ate their flesh with a nice cup of tea.

Tough here in Bexley.

Tough

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:40

Shirley you racist! It's Inuit. Tsk

WishItCouldBeShirleyEveryDay · 01/12/2010 21:43

God.

I'm not doing well tonight.

Racist and homophobic.

Tough road man.

Kbear · 01/12/2010 21:44

Bexley is the centre of the universe, it is "where it's AT"!

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 01/12/2010 21:44

lol Shirley

In fact,

16 inches here in Kent. School shut today and tomorrow. No way in or out of road, let alone village. Scrounged some milk off neighbour, DC having a ball, DH very hacked off no trains into London (can't work from home )

Kaddy says we are to expect another 5-10 inches. Ta luv. I must be getting old - did anyone see what she was wearing when she did the weather last night???? A sleeveless top. That'd be where our licence fee goes then, BBC heating bill.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 01/12/2010 21:46

Im in bedford, we just have ice. Lots and lots of ice. So annoying, DS fell over several times on way and back to school - he was not amused Grin

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:46

Where are you being homophobic? And have you been Told Orf? Bexley is London apparently. Interesting.

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 01/12/2010 21:48

Bexley is a London borough but it ain't London. Its Kent.

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 01/12/2010 21:51

Oh. I see. I just see London and assume the whole south east has been absorbed
