Been too busy to look at weather stuff in any detail at all this week Shock

Obviously details are low at the moment but Monday does look quite interesting as a low moves through. Strong gusty winds, which many of us have not seen for a good while. met office are showing gusts over 40mph right across the uk, 50-60mph in places Keep an eye on this in case the low deepens more than they expect.

Heads up to for those in the far SE. warnings for over 70mm of rain tonight into tomorrow. That will certainly cause surface flooding issues if it is accurate.

HabbiBOOM · 08/11/2010 13:36

huzzah. ordered and 10% off too. Bring it on, low pressure. In 2-3 days.

dementedma · 08/11/2010 13:55

wet and blustery here in Central Scotland, but no snow as yet

dementedma · 08/11/2010 13:58

HabbiBOOM - where in Fife are you?
I'm kind of central.......

moonmother · 08/11/2010 14:02

Petunia yeah I got the horizonatal one... I'm really pleased with it.

Rains very light drizzle here for now- expecting more later. Still gusty and pressures down again to 967.

petunia · 08/11/2010 14:07

Moonmother, I'll take a look at them tomorrow!

lostinwales · 08/11/2010 14:12

Oh boy, more rain later? We will have to swim to get out of the village tomorrow then if the puddle on the road gets any bigger! (when I say puddle it's about 5m long and currently covering 2/3 of the width of the road)

HabbiBOOM · 08/11/2010 14:15

Grin frida!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 08/11/2010 16:33

here in rural NE scotland, had a wild windy night with rain blasting the windows, loud enough to wake ds and me (both usually "sleep like the dead" folks).

Still windy, with rain pretty much all day today. Hubby claimed he was hit with hail on his walk to work this morning, but i'm not sure (he's a cold = manflu exaggerator).

Very unpleasant all round, now getting dark, we are in and wish could stay in, but i have to go to work at 7pm yuk. will make sure i have torch, blankie and snack bars in the car just in case!!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 08/11/2010 16:34

oh and meant to say, this is a very interesting thread, and well done on making discussion of the day!! Grin

bramblebooks · 08/11/2010 16:43

trumpton · 08/11/2010 17:57

Anybody want a Summer House ? It's all over my garden if you want to collect it. I mean it's in 5 thousand pieces...was a bit windy on the Isle of man last night.

rockinhippy · 08/11/2010 18:02

Can't say I'm surprised as sore as hell & been fighting migraine all week, which is a sure sign theres a big storm brewing Confused but our backyard patio as I'm now SE Grin, was totally trashed early this morning, looks like we were hit with our own personal mini tornado Shock ....

thought we'd lost DDs pet Rabbit too, as he was nowhere to be seen, & didn't come when called, unheard of at feeding time, & didn't look good with big mound of earth & broken plants & planters filling up the back end of the yard :(

Thankfully the poor thing had squeezed himself into a tiny crack & though cold wet & scared was okay

I Got battered & soaked on the way to School, scarily high winds [hmm[ & then come pick up time its lovely & sunny Confused

sharbie · 08/11/2010 18:07

we had it here in s hants meglet - lots of rain last night and huge puddles over the roads here too.
the apple tree opposite looks very odd - no leaves, completely bare but still has loads of red apples on.not seen that before. Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/11/2010 18:40

Northernlurker · 08/11/2010 18:42

Pressure down to 970, strong winds and pouring rain and v cold here in York now. I did not enjoy cycling home!

bubby64 · 08/11/2010 18:48

Very wet and windy here in Suffolk, and thats just indoors!!LOL

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/11/2010 18:52

blimey rockin! poor rabbit. Can I ask about the big mound of earth? The broken pots were from the storm? were you aware of what time that happened(ish)

meglet - it was a nice afternoon! (cold) - the lull bit I was talking about. some heavy downpours overnight for you, pretty gusty too. very autumnal.

trumpton! a flat pack summer house now? thats pretty impressive.

habbi - looking for you now....
