Shiny new thread. Work means I've only walked 5.2km this week, though Fitbit says it's 11.9.

I’ve not heard of shadow Pokemon, just had to google it. is there a pop up announcement that’s just not appeared on my news yet?

I owe so many people from the thread gifts from my account and from DS account. DS gifts will be from Israel which hopefully will help people identify my name change (In game I'm K....K...)

Non-poke life has been absolutely hectic and I only started playing properly again this weekend, but I managed to make Level 40. Only seen one grunt stop so far but hoping they get a bit more common.

They even have purple smoke coming out the top of the gym!

I've not heard anything about smoke Pokemon before. They look fab, but I'm probably the most unlucky Pokemon hunter ever so will probably never get one. Feel like I only ever level up from catching 20 million rattatas a day!

My youngest has just gotten back into pogo and needs friends for the tasks. He's Neymarboy1010 code 1235 0161 9945. Ive already sent a few requests. Of course he wants it all immediately! Lol thanks all

Finally caught my first shiny - an Eevee - on Monday. But just caught a shiny Duskull. Horrendous CP on both but nice to look at!

Also, everyone inundated with Pikachu with hats? Was so excited to see my first one, now I wish they'd buzz off! Got about 30 of them now. Why cant I evolve them?

So Team Rocket encounters have been taken out the game until further notice..... Bit disappointing I didn't get to find a stop and have a battle
Wonder if there was a bug or something that needs fixing or will it have a proper launch around Japan's Go Fest???

Sorry I don’t know you’re MN names - we are Ultra Friends you are local to me - I have an Ex-Raid pass for 4pm tomorrow at Tribute. Let me know if you want to join in. I haven’t done an ex-raid before but it seems there’s going to be a fairly big group out!

My pokestop at work is a Rocket pokestop just now. I caught a shadowy bulbasaur.
I didn't even notice it, just turned it and suddenly there is a battle.

DP just got me 2 shadow charmanders... purified one. Can't wait to find my own shadow stop so I can have a go at a battle!

Ok so I've gotten the research for the shadow
Pokemon, how do you find them?

Look for pokestops that are darker and seem to quiver on your map. When you get in range the stop will turn black and some Team Rocket grunts will appear. If you spin the stop you will start the battle and if you defeat them you get the chance to catch one.
Look at what they say before they start the battle as it will give a clue to what type of pokemon they will use - you can then choose your pokemon to counter best.
If you don't win the battle you can spin again for another go!

I've just battled for a shadow Rat and it ran away!

Do you know how long these shadow battles are running for?

The 'special' pokestops aren't always rocket ones. I saw some quivering a few streets away last night. Left the house especially (late too!) but by the time I got there they were back to normal ones. None near me quivering today.

Rocket pokestops only last for 30mins

I caught a shadow Ratatta this morning, my first one. Evolved it into Raticate so far but not healed it but I feel bad for not purifying it straight away (silly I know!)

I finally managed to do two rocket stops

One was a zubat, the other a goldbat.

Purified them both as I felt bad

One more to do for my research task but I’m not going out anymore today

I think the rocket stops are only until 1st August?

I believe the shiny increase, team rocket raids and the specific egg hatch types end on the 1st of Aug but team rocket is here to stay infecting Pokestops!

If they're not worth purifying just transfer them to the professor. He can nurse them back to health and you can save your stardust.
