Shiny new thread. Work means I've only walked 5.2km this week, though Fitbit says it's 11.9.

Im hoping to lucky egg today, to level up with people. So please count me in if you are 1 day away! Hopefully today is the day!

@6Orbit hopefully the photo I have attached will explain community day. There will be loads of swamperts about and a very good chance of shinies. Plus the exclusive move is apparently very much worth having (I'm no expert on the finer points of move sets etc but that's what I have read!). I will add you as a friend now too (malidice)

Also when you go into the news tab, swipe left to get from notifications into news which is where this stuff hides away. Apologies if you have already been doing that!

Ah thanks for the screen shot. Yes have been swiping but it comes up with Pikachu wearing a straw hat as the top news item from a few days ago.

I've completed the field research re friends now, thanks! No gifts left today (also have the issue where dd opens them so not always in control of that aspect!) but we will be out later so hopefully can stock up. Our town has rubbish internet though so it is quite frustrating when you can see gyms/stops but there is a Network Error. Even the contactless card machines in our town struggle to use wifi! Heaven knows what the tourists think .

Dd has just used 6 Ryhorn candies to power our buddy up although we are meant to be saving to evolve...it's gonna mean a LOT of walking over the holidays!

Don't worry @funnelfanjo real life is more important. I will hold off opening the gift to trigger our friends. I will however be triggering friends with @polkadotpixie and @plantbased and @whereareyousleep just after 4pm, so hopefully you will have lucky eggs on anyway. @riddleyw @littledinosaurs it would be good if you can trigger ours then too as hoping to hit level 40 today. I shall be at a festival this afternoon but have set an alarm for 4pm (hope the music isn't too loud!) I'm podsy68.

Sorry, have just realised what day it is, have been manically busy at work so not much time to play.

I am due to level up with a few people I think. I don't need the xp so if anyone is holding on for me then feel free to go ahead and open eggs whenever it suits you.

I have managed to get 2 shiny mudkip and evolved a 96IV one that I had. Our usual hunting ground where everyone descends upon on C-days was dead. There were a few hardcore gamers but that's it.

On the bright side, only 1.5 million xp till level 40!

I've 1.5 million xp to L37. I stopped playing in November 2017 after a family crisis and picked it up again last week. There has been so much to catch up with - research, friends, new 'mon, new pokestops, even the button in the middle of the screen rather than a long press for the charged move. Some things don't change - my first raid in a long while and Mewtwo legged it. Swine.

Bloody missed community day by 2 mins didnt i! Only just remembered it was 4-7pm!grrrr!

Thanks to everyone I levelled up with - I've nearly swept straight through level 35! I've had a very successful Community Day with seven shinies which is unheard of for me.

Thanks to everyone who levelled up with me today! It was my first ever coordinegging and I'm very happy to have gained over 400,000 xp. I popped into town a bit later on and caught two lovely shiny Mudkips too.

I only got out for the last half hour after falling asleep! DP's account got one shiny but they weren't really spawning that well. I did do a raid with both accounts and ended up with 20 balls, puts the 5* raids I do with the local group where I get 9 into perspective!
