Has anyone actually seen a ghost

Not, caught something out the corner of your eye or felt a presence, I mean actually seen one, spoken to one etc?

im aware this sounds woo. I don’t think I do believe in them, never seen one but ppl I have spoken to say they have.

maybe some ppl are more receptive to these things or maybe it’s a trick of the mind?

I heard one walk down a corridor at school and sit on the edge of my bed (boarding school). I also felt one in a house I used to live in - it tapped me on the shoulder when I was washing up in the kitchen - the cat didn't like it much but weirdly it didn't scare me.

Or they've seen something they can't explain so think it's something supernatural.

Yes. In St Mary & St Finnan church in Glenfinnan in the Scottish Highlands. It was very eerie and unsettling.

Many people saw a hand moving in my previous house. It 'scurried' like a rat.

Several members of our family saw it and so did other visitors. A cleaner and the chimney sweep also saw it and they had no previous knowledge of it. All different times of day and night.

Everyone described it in exactly the same place, moving in exactly the same way.

An elderly lady sitting on a chair on the Altar, she was very still and tears streaming down. It was dusk, the church was in semi darkness. My friend and I had walked by the side of the altar she was sitting on just moments before. It’s difficult to explain, but there is no way we would have missed her coming into the church or sitting there when we first went past. She just appeared. It was very very unnerving.

Gosh, that does sound unnerving. Did your friend see her too?

I don't believe in ghosts but I love reading woo stories. Im sorry @Wisperley but how could you not have been scared by someone tapping you on the shoulder? I would jump out of my skin even sometimes when it was a living human doing the tapping, but a ghost?!

We have the ghost of a small boy in our family... Been seen by adult dc and myself. Heard by dh.. And dc know their toys were often played with during the night...

I saw a dark man at the top of our stairs as a child. He was silhouetted against the sunset in the window of the room behind him. He had a hat on, and the light shone between all the places where his joints would have been. It terrified me and I’ve never forgotten it. I was six at the time - this was the 1980s.

As an adult I once saw mention of ‘shadow people’ and googled and found out about the ‘hat man’ which apparently is a fairly common vision/night terror. I wasn’t asleep though - I remember running downstairs in terror.

Yes, ghost of my grandad brother when I was 4. He died when he was 4/5 in the house my grandparents lived in. I had a full on chat and played with toys with him. My grandad was as white as a sheet when I told him.

August 2019 about 7.00pm in a restaurant, sitting at a round table, my mother, husband, daughter and me, in that order. We had just got menus and a ‘column
Of smoke’ appeared between my husband and daughter. It was like the smoke you get when a candle has been blown out but much, much bigger. Both my husband and I saw it and looked at each other puzzled. My mother and daughter didn’t see it. There was no fire or candles as I looked around where we were sitting. We never mentioned it that evening and didn’t talk about it until the next morning when my husband asked me what it was we had seen. It sort of coiled upwards and then disappeared. What was strange is that we didn’t talk about it or mention but just looked at each other at the time.

Me and dh have never discussed it to /in front of dc. Any recalls of stuff is their own stories... Adult ds slept on the couch one week we were away as he could hear a small dc running along the landing upstairs near his bedroom.... A detached house with no ndn.
My ex mil also saw him. Thinking it was one of my ds's... They were at their df's that night.

Yes i have. On three occasions. One of those times another person saw it too. The other two times it was just me.

My mother has seen a 'ghost'. She saw the same thing in the same place on 3/4 occasions over a ten year period. At the bottom of a flight of stairs she clearly saw a man in a grey suit with his face pressed against the wall. After the second sighting she told my father who pointed out that where the man was standing there used to be a doorway which was blocked up and decorated over years before my mother's time in the property. She hadn't known about it till then. So the man is, in 'his time' just standing looking through a doorway.

I caught something weird like that in a photo a few years ago. I was doing my makeup in my bedroom when all my hair on one side stood on end. I snapped a photo behind me, had a quick glance, then carried on getting ready. It wasn’t until I looked properly later that I noticed this Smokey cord thing reaching out to touch me.

Oooooh it’s all very interesting. Has anyone actually spoken to one though or had one speak to you. If you saw something that was close enough to touch, did you?

I live in a coastal village and have holiday cottages one of which was my Grandmother's home when she was alive. Various different people have stayed in her cottage over the past few years and six or seven families have reported seeing an older lady sitting by the lounge window, but all of them saw her from outside as they were walking up the path to the front door and once folks got inside she was gone. I've seen her too and I think she's telling me she's ok. It's quite scary but I know she wouldn't harm anyone, however there are 2 families that said they'd never stay again.
Not telling anyone where I am as may lose bookings.
