I'm 86% Northern according to the link JaneJeffer posted. I haven't lived in the North for about 35 years, but I'm happy to find I'm still true to my roots

According to Buzzfeed I'm 51% Northern and 49% Southern which I thought at first was ridiculous because I've lived in the South all my life (except for a stint at uni in the midlands).

But then thinking about it, Dad was Scottish and Mum is French so I guess they've just kind of split the difference

To someone from Taunton I would be considered a northerner...and to someone from Birmingham I would be considered a southerner.

I think I might exhibit Northern attitudes. I can't think what they might be, but I've probably got them.

I've been up here 35 years now. Still a southerner though. I wonder how that fits with OP?

Apparently not hitting people on a regular basis makes me southern.

I know when I worked in London for a year 30 years ago I used to chat to people on the train/tube going to work every morning. It took me ages to realise it freaked them out.

After that it amused me and I awarded myself silent points for how uncomfortable I was making them by friendly conversation and awarded myself extra points if they said you're from the North, aren't you.

Seemed perfectly normal to me to say, 'Morning,' to folks you see every day.
