You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

@SmileEachDay 🤢🤢🤮

Hercwasonasnowball · 30/12/2020 14:32

I'm taking a laissez-faire attitude to live lessons too. Aside from y10-12 who need to be working. The rest are getting revision style stuff with perhaps a bit of a new content. Inevitably kids won't bother and I'm not reteaching loads of stuff when they return. At least if we are in the building, the workload shouldn't be as bad as lockdown.

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 14:33

What about if you play an actual disc? Will that go out on Teams?

How many of your cohort are likely to have access to Netflix or Prime?

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 30/12/2020 14:34

Clearly Gav.

I think I'd shout at Gove if I saw him in the street. Him and Johnson.

Behaviour not sensible of a late 40 year old middle class teacher, but still. I don't think there is any reason for them to go about their business without the words LYING LIARS reverberating around them at all times.

@SmileEachDay

He’s so smug and self satisfied and his chin is horrible.

Here’s a question:
Who would you rather shag:

Gove

Or

Gav

😆

Gav! At least I find him better-looking.
RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 30/12/2020 14:35

Ha, just saw this on Twitter. This might be a thing:

‘Schools in Tier 4 regions will be able to decide whether to open or whether to move to remote learning, in consultation with their communities.’

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 14:36

Yeah but Gav though, Rule

He’s go all wibbly and want to cuddle afterwards.

Omg, what a choice!

Can I choose to join a convent instead?!

DecemberStar · 30/12/2020 14:38

(If we've got to the stage of visualising DTD with the Secretary of State we must be desperate!!!)

POOR HEADS if they have to consult their communities on whether to open or not.

That's an awful decision (no surprise). Heads will crumble under the pressure to go back.
SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 14:40

No! That’s not how the game works.

hedgehogger1 · 30/12/2020 14:40

That's just the government trying to lay the blame somewhere else. My head would keep us open.

Same here.
Cracklefraggle · 30/12/2020 14:41

ARGH!!! Meant to quote Smile before my vomiting quip!

Envy (not envy)

Ok.

Right. It would have to be Gav but I would need him not to speak Grin.

hedgehogger1 · 30/12/2020 14:42

Just Gove's name is enough to put my bloody pressure up. An ex colleague went to work at the school his kids at. I don't think I'd have made it through parents eve without losing my job (and possibly being arrested)

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 14:43

Ohhh but he would. He’d want you stroke his hair and kiss.

Grin

A family member - senior education professional - had a mental and physical breakdown some years ago. One of the things that gave them heart attack symptoms was hearing Gove's voice on the radio.
noblegiraffe · 30/12/2020 14:45

Or even worse: Shag marry kill:

Boris, Gove, Gav?

That would be sensible, especially if working with phe, and if they've detected more of the new variant

NeurotreeWenceslas · 30/12/2020 14:47

I think you should do a detention for that.

GravityFalls · 30/12/2020 14:48

Ugh, Gav would get all soppy after. He’s a feathery stroker if ever I saw one.

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 14:48

Shag Boris - over quickly and he’d probably have some decent alcohol

Marry Gav - then push him off the Scarborough cliffs

Kill Gove - because obviously
