You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

I don't want his thanks. I want some more safety measures in schools. Especially as he thinks it's too dangerous for HIM to go to work.

RigaBalsam · 30/12/2020 16:41

@SmileEachDay

Where’s that from Riga?
Local Mp posted it.

@PumpkinPie2016

So basically, in secondary, things have just sort of shifted on a week.

As I understand it, 11/13 online next week, others at home (online?) Apart from vulnerable/key workers. Then 11/13 return from 11th and all others taught online. All back 18th. Waiting now for further details from the head for plans for our school.

Primaries have basically been thrown under the bus Sad

And still nothing on exams!

What happens if a school doesn't get testing organised, for example if the Government doesn't send them enough tests (they talked about a number of 'devices' that was 100x too low)? Does that mean 11 and 13 can't return?
hedgehogger1 · 30/12/2020 16:42

Where's that from @RigaBalsam

TheHoneyBadger · 30/12/2020 16:42

@flumposie

So glad I've not wasted my holiday planning lessons for next week yet.
Yep Sad I don't understand why we're not meant to provide remote learning for all year groups? Can't really afford to lose another week with so much time missed already.
wasgoingmadinthecountry · 30/12/2020 16:43

@isthatitnow @starrynight19

Absolutely not worth it. I can't do this any more.

Runtowardsthemulledwine · 30/12/2020 16:43

The fucking fuckers! They can fuck the fuck off 🤬 give me wine! Before I explode/cry/break something.

hedgehogger1 · 30/12/2020 16:43

Because were busy putting up marquees as test stations?

@starrynight19

This job is just not worth it Sad
Yup.
Piggyinblankets · 30/12/2020 16:44

So, what do secondary teachers think their SLTs will fill 'gained time' with next week??

lonelyplanet · 30/12/2020 16:45

Nothing at all to keep primary staff safe

MrsHamlet · 30/12/2020 16:45

Surely not providing remote lessons next week completely plays into the lazy teacher rhetoric? This makes no bloody sense.

Piggyinblankets · 30/12/2020 16:45

And primary teachers : so sorry. Solidarnosc.

I have a flag somewhere with that on it. Lech Walesa gave it to my dad. Must look for it.

Unbelievable - dangerous for MPs to all be in but it doesn't matter about school staff.

What is it Gav? Risky or not risky?

Oh God... don't!
TheHoneyBadger · 30/12/2020 16:46

I'm sick of them 'using' vulnerable kids like this to do their faux self righteousness and care. None of them have said a word in a decade of service decimation for send kids, camhs, social services etc.

NeurotreeWenceslas · 30/12/2020 16:46

Nope. This will hit badly. The NE sort of had a similar thing where we couldn't meet another person outside the home but had to go to school obviously. Staff morale was v low and v angry, esp TAs.

Monkeytennis97 · 30/12/2020 16:46

Come on Yvette

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/12/2020 16:47

Replacing SI guy Can get to the far side of fuck.

Hope Yvette Cooper gives Gav hell.

Monkeytennis97 · 30/12/2020 16:47

Sadly not

SantaAssociationRepresentitve · 30/12/2020 16:48

Well done Yvette - DfE and Gov always late and chaotic
