You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Thanks Staff Wine

BreadSaucery · 14/12/2020 19:53

Thank you again, Staff. These threads have been a fabulous place to drop in and feel less alone in all the madness.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 14/12/2020 19:55

And it has gone mad again. Every time you think common sense might prevail another curveball is thrown.

I fancy an advocaat now ...

Gav has been busy signing letters.

A bit like Delores Umbridge and the educational decrees Hmm

MrsHamlet · 14/12/2020 19:57

Thanks, staff

I'm up for a mobile testing road trip

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 14/12/2020 20:00

Gulped my drink reading about Delores @Appuskidu really made me giggle Smile

Hello all thanks @StaffAssociationRepresentative 🙏

BobsNephew · 14/12/2020 20:04

That letter looks serious and scary. Is it?

Augustbreeze · 14/12/2020 20:05

Wow. This is war.

Not sure who's on which side, this evening will be interesting as statements are made.

Poor schools, and parents, in Greenwich.

BobsNephew · 14/12/2020 20:05

Will I have to scratch 'I will not be absent' into my hand as a punishment if I take a day off?

Augustbreeze · 14/12/2020 20:05

I really hate that part of HP. Very dark.

WhenSheWasBad · 14/12/2020 20:09

Sad maybe I will power through regardless of my physical and mental health. That might take up your whole arm though.

I saw your post on another thread. What a shitty email.

Appuskidu · 14/12/2020 20:10

Anything is possible under this shower of shite!
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 14/12/2020 20:10

PMK.

Think the government might be in danger of misjudging the mood and ending up with egg on their face here. It’s 3 days at the end of term FFS, presumably with online learning going on.

Although fighting a battle they don’t need to fight just so they can say they kept schools open for the whole of the autumn term seems par for the course.

BobsNephew · 14/12/2020 20:11

It left a bad taste @WhenSheWasBad . Have had to have some v strong red wine to wash it away.

Appuskidu · 14/12/2020 20:11

Someone on Twitter has just pointed out the date on Gavlar’s letter Grin. Have a look!!

I have advocaat but ds has drunk the lemonade. Doesn't really work with tonic.

I just posted on the other thread only to find I couldn't post. The app doesn't tell me when threads are full.

Augustbreeze · 14/12/2020 20:14

Where's the letter (which is presumably different from the order made under the Cv Act?) ?

BobsNephew · 14/12/2020 20:17

It would be interesting if the case got to the high court.

RigaBalsam · 14/12/2020 20:17

Thanks Staff

As for Gavin saying he is doing the best for young people. Outrageous he doesn't know what that is.

SquashedFlyBiscuitsForSanta · 14/12/2020 20:18

We now have all the children but are running out of staff. Yikes. Poor head looks beyond exhausted.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/12/2020 20:19

Yes to the Umbridge analogies. Do they really want to go to war with schools?

Can headteachers strike? That would be interesting and raise awareness of the shit show without the disgust we babysitters would arouse amongst parents maybe 🤔

Appuskidu · 14/12/2020 20:19

It’s the date on the link I posted-is it not a letter? An order, then.

A 10 year out of date order.

Some sort of strike where parents and kids are inconvenienced sounds sensible. Would love to bin the book scrutiny’s
