Hello lurkers! Hope you are alright.

Positive tests are a real kicker.

BreadSaucery · 23/12/2020 19:43

Sorry, December it just means doing the bare minimum. So wrapping presents, yes, other things.....meh.

Overthrhill · 23/12/2020 19:44

Sending in emergency After 8s and a tin of quality street for the broom cupboard as well as a couple of bottles of Malbec Left over from the last lockdown .

Piggyinblankets · 23/12/2020 20:04

A baby girl has died in Scotland Sad

CallmeAngelGabriel · 23/12/2020 20:07

Whaaat??? Of Covid?
Sad

DollyMixtureLulus · 23/12/2020 20:08

Oh my goodness. How awful. Poor wee baby and her family :(

Loshad · 23/12/2020 20:13

I would have shared the mint matchmakers a kid gave me with you but DH and I have snaffled them all, sorry.

DreamingofBrie · 23/12/2020 20:14

Lovely to see you, Ovr and Gloria. I hope your dc is better very soon, Ovr.

My greengrocer has just dropped the veg delivery off. He was pleased when I gave him a bottle of wine!

Terrible news about that poor baby, Piggy Sad. Feeling deflated this evening.

Loshad · 23/12/2020 20:14

That’s awful news about the baby, poor wee thing

Piggyinblankets · 23/12/2020 20:15

Yes ange with/of. Underlying health conditions, no doubt... Angry

I don't like mint matchmakers to change the tone entirely. Only the orange ones. Which is weird as I hate chocolate and orange normally.

PumpkinPie2016 · 23/12/2020 20:16

Awful news about the baby. Poor little thing and the poor family Sad

Isthatitnow · 23/12/2020 20:34

Can we collectively put something together to send to our MPs? Good questions based on the data we have seen? Jenny Harries really sold us out this afternoon. I feel I need to do something....anything!

Cracklefraggle · 23/12/2020 20:46

I'm still in school denial mode - don't have the energy to worry about things when it will have no impact

MrsChristmasHamlet · 23/12/2020 20:48

I'm with you Crackle. I'm so done with it all.

Open for business - I havent wanted to go outside the staffroom today as it is far too stressful.

Yes she showed no understanding or compassion for staff in schools. But hey no surprise there .... after all Gav is MIA
GleamingBaubles · 23/12/2020 22:00

How awful about a baby. I saw the most gorgeous newborn squish today - normally I'd rush over and gush disgustingly about how beautiful they are - but you can't now due to social distancing - even with a negative Covid test result I don't want to breathe over a newborn. Poor poor baby

Big hugs to everyone who needs them. I'm drinking more and more as it gets closer to the start of term. It's going to be so much worse. I've got the Sunday dreads all the time. But in brighter news I've finally managed to wrap the presents and was interrupted by the kids only 4 times SmileGrin (after their bedtime, but they knew what I was doing and kept wanting a peek! So cute Grin)

I've brought my attempts at festive baking in to try and cheer/console everyone. So help yourselves not Covid secure, but then what is?

I've decided to give up drinking and eating my stress away (before I have nothing left to wear) and start being a bit healthier.
Started today with a little run around the block - and dd1 came with me as well!

Piggyinblankets · 29/12/2020 10:04

I was amusing myself whilst in empty supermarket today at how a supermarket shop is the most perilous thing MN can possibly imagine.

SaltyAF · 29/12/2020 10:07

I made a Christmas cake this year. I was dreading it being dry and tasteless but it's just like my mum's used to be! Very pleased with myself.

I'm going to have a day off booze I think. We're having a Fitbit challenge.

HarrietDVane · 29/12/2020 10:08

Just place marking... made the fatal error of braving the scales. Now wish I hadn’t. It didn’t help my general mood. How quickly can an exercise hating older teacher lose 6st? Asking for a friend... Confused

starrynight19 · 29/12/2020 10:10

Wow we have woken up to lots and lots of snow. So grateful I am not having to navigate my way to school in this.
Briefly looked at the headlines and planning a big walk in the snow with the dog and any teens who get out of their pit soon to get away from it all.

CallmeAngelGabriel · 29/12/2020 10:27

Brr. It's bloody cold in here. Turn the radiator up!

Someone got ddog a Fitbit fro Christmas. He got a message yesterday telling him to take it easy! No such danger on mine.
