Hi @TheHoneyBadger - to be fair, you didn't make the student cry, her friend did lol.

TheHoneyBadger · 23/10/2020 17:51

Oh I let her sit with the idea of having no phone for a week though!

And we are off .......

Go to the pub - we would be so lucky as the head has banned staff trips to the pub

TheHoneyBadger · 23/10/2020 18:00

Yay thanks staff. Your head is insane. My community would have way more respect for the school if they actually saw the teachers in the pub or the shops. I'm one of the only ones who live locally and the school feels like some alien fenced in ivory tower to the locals because the teachers don't exist in the community itms.

What a cute little threadlet! When I saw the title I didn't understand it at first but clicked on it as I knew it was going to be one of the gang!

AllDoneIn · 24/10/2020 22:06

Marking place.

Augustbreeze · 24/10/2020 22:52

@AllDoneIn the discussion moved when the next Republic thread was created, so don't get locked in the broom cupboard!

AllDoneIn · 25/10/2020 01:39

Thanks 😁

Augustbreeze · 30/10/2020 09:47

I'm here again.....

Frlrlrubert · 30/10/2020 10:13

Every science department I've ever been in has had a secondary staff room in a broom closet. I feel quite at home here.

Is that the old one?
monkeytennis97 · 30/10/2020 10:17

Yup @Appuskidu

Just had results of DS's test from care home- negative, thank God. Just got to hope everyone else is there.

Augustbreeze · 30/10/2020 10:27

Glad to hear that @monkeytennis97

CallmeAngelina · 30/10/2020 10:32

Yoohoo!

God, is that the smell of the sprinkly sick sand?

Augustbreeze · 30/10/2020 10:37

Oh @CallmeAngelina you've just reminded me why I don't work in primary any more... 🤢

Copied from the thread on Secondary minimising cases:

This goes against what the DfE tell the school to do though, which is to only isolate close contacts at secondary school unless there are several outbreaks within one year group. Because the DfE apparently knows that the virus can only spread to those sitting within 2m of you in a classroom. DH's head closed a year group against the advice of the DfE and received a written reprimand from them.

Appuskidu · 30/10/2020 10:47

Just seen on the Independent on Twitter that Raab isn’t ruling out a Tier 4. But schools and journeys to work would still continue as normal.

Certainly didn't!

monkeytennis97 · 02/11/2020 18:49

Blimey that went fast! Evening everyone! Had a fairly easy day today in terms of lessons... found out that a neighbours school has 40plus staff SI before half term in tier 1! I've been wearing a mask everywhere since September so made me happy to see everyone else in a mask now (tier 2).

Keepdistance · 02/11/2020 18:52

Pleb hope she and her family feel better soon.
Frlrl hope the temp isnt covid

DrMadelineMaxwell · 02/11/2020 18:53

Blimey. We filled that last one quickly!

MrsHamlet · 02/11/2020 18:55

I have a milk lake due to ordering ineptitude, so help yourselves to rice pudding. There's golden syrup by the paper cutter.
